what?
http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/bik/949164286.html
once again I am having problems with posting the picture here but if someone could explain this bike and why it is worth so much that would be great. because I am saying :wtf: |
well, for one thing, that's a moped. Isnt it?
|
I am not sure I went and looked again and did not see any pedals, however it was litsted in the craigslist bike section. It just looks hokie to me.
|
I've seen one before, and I remember when they were new. Nothing but a plastic shell over a Huffy (or Murray, was it?) made so the kiddies would like it. 24" wheels, sidepull brakes just like a Wal-Mart Magna, and not worth a fifth of that price.
Put it in Numbskull Of The Day. -Kurt |
There's one born every minute? Do the Gates' have a son around the age where he'd be riding something that size?
Could also be a severe case of wishful thinking too. |

I was wondering about the bike, i thought it looked like the plastic cover deal going on but then for that price I thought it had to be powered somehow but man is it ugly.
Not sure what the seller is thinking. but thanks for all the input, makes me feel not so dumbskull |
they sold those in the mid nineties around the time of the last big Harley anniversary festivities. I was still pretty young then and knew a couple friends who's younger siblings had these. They had them at walmart here for about $150 or so new. They looked kind of cool, but were just a molded plastic shell over a cheap hi-ten steel frame, and very heavy. For most of the kids who had them the novelty quickly wore off as parts promptly broke and the plastic cracked, and most ended up in the garbage or buried in the garage.

Puts me in mind of that gold Papish Colnago with a starting bid of $100,000. Still gives me the giggles. (Seriously, I'm giggling while I type this.)

Yup ,it is a bike.my grandsons really like it.they always want to ride it when they visit.i think it also has a motor that makes noise when you rev it.heres a pic of a complete one.prices shouldnt be mentioned here but anything over $100 is too much.http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...g?t=1228761458

wow, what a cool looking bike. wow, what an absurdly high asking price. that is unless it is like a one of a kind or extremely rare or a celebrity is going to hand deliver it to my house. otherwise i wouldn't pay that much for that bike, but i do like the little bugger.
|
wow that must be a b*t*h to work on. gotta get it all naked first
|
i like it.
|
Thats crazy, I am sitting here lmao as I look at that silly bike.
|
they look good in pics, look like a cheap toy when you see them up close. If I remember most of the plastic shell comes off in about 4 pieces, and is held together with a few wood screws. the saddle bags in the above pic were an optional thing you could by seperately
|
Blech! Just Blech!
|
I belive the harley riders all say "if ya gotta ask you will never understand" LOLOL
|
Well, let's see:
Two wheels. Pedals. Saddle bags. Shiny stuff. Honkin' thick tires. Makes a motor sound. You just know if we'd have had those as kids, we'd have jumped lots of stuff. And broke lots of bones and bikes. That's why I like it. |
