Bottom Bracket Spindle

I am trying to find a 107 JIS BB spindle for my 79 Raleigh Grand Prix. Does anyone know where to find BB spindle's for old unsealed BB. I tried to put a new cartridge style BB but the threads are not deep enough to take a new BB.
Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, you need to find a spindle made for a mountain bike, 73mm BB shell. I believe they are marked with a 5.

No its a 68mm english thread,

Need to find a LBS with a bucket of spindles. I needed some headset parts for my 1990 Univega, and the bike shop pulled out their tub of old headset parts and we found what we needed.

Unfortunately, many dealers/shops have pitched their old stuff. So you need to look around a bit.

I need to find a spindle myself for my old 1973 Peugeot.

I think you need to use the #5 JIS spindle if you are going to use the old cups and convert from cottered to cotterless, is what I mean.

The cups are cotterless, I figured the best route was a LBS.
Thanks

Are any of these 107 JIS? I find getting brackets like this pretty difficult, although there
are a few online places that sell them at about $35 ISO. Not sure I have ever seen a 107 JIS although I need
to check my Dura Ace - seems like they would be JIS. They tend to be closer to 109.

If you want a 120 or 126 JIS they are easy as dirt to come by as pointed out above. I think some of the cartridge BB come
in this size (~107).

I bought some of these and they are mislabeled in the ad. They are acutally 109
and I believe they are JIS.

Alfred E. Bike has some spindles in the Parts & Accessories Catalog online. I got lucky there about a year ago and found a replacement spindle for my Motobecane GT. Good thing I wasn't looking for cups....

Incidently, AE Bike's catalog has some illustrations for the spindles - if you look carefully (and measure carefully) you should be able to determine if you have the right part for your bike.
