I may be cured

There was/is an ad in the local CL for a matching his/hers 1969 Suburban pair for $60, in my part of town, and I didn't even call.

A few months ago I would have been on this so quickly, now....nada.

Hallelujah, I've been cured!

This, too, shall pass. What if they were his and hers DeRosas, in ELOS with 10 speed?

Anything in ELOS and I would be on it, you know that.

I'm actually considering putting a new Campy carbon gruppo on the pink De Rosa. I think it may look good.

OFG, Can you pass along the magic cure. Is it prayer, meds, counceling or the one I'm facing OOM (Out Of Money)?

I've been cured... by... lack of space. I can no longer hang "new" bikes in the back of our garage, else my wife won't be able to park her car. Max'ed out at five... she noticed nothing going on, from two to five... .

Me, too. I actually built a bike for a friend's daughter, and only made about $50 on the deal for 2 day's worth of labor building it up and testing it out.

Altruism - what's wrong with me?

There is no such thing as a cure for addiction. There is only temporary control of the addiction.

Must be something going around as I have passed on a number bikes I would have snapped up a year ago. That $90 Sports Tourer, called my brother. He picked it up for cheap. That $60 Super Sport? Called my brother. Specialized Expedition, yep, my brother got that as well.

What is wrong with me?

So what? I just got a whole mess of new tool boxes and organized the entire workspace.

That's when you know you're sick.

Suburbans are dogs and we all know it. There is a matching pair of Suburbans in the garage across the street from my grandma's place and I can't walk over there and take them. That's not saying that I haven't checked out way too many UO-8's though. Lets see you do that with a pair 3-speeds. when it's not -40 degrees outside. You're not cured you are just developing a higher tolerance, and need.
It's kinda like Heroin..........

I've tried to come up with all sorts of witty things to write, but only this one seemed to work, "I've been cured!"

Actually, I speculate that the overwhelmingly beautiful AZ weather this time of year keeps you outside riding instead of inside wrenching? Now if you were in MI at this moment, I bet it would be a whole new story!

Substitute "Italian bikes" for "Surburban." Still cured?

There is no cure, only a bit of control. I thought I had stopped buying more bikes late this summer after I sold off 8 to one guy and cleared out most of my garage. That lasted about 2 weeks and then a great deal or two would pop up, close by my house and next thing you know the garage is full. Oh, and the basement.

Now, no driving more than maybe 20-30 minutes to pick up a bike -- that has pretty much stuck, even with gas prices coming down.

The most important rule added this summer has been - no letting buying a bike get in the way of riding a bike I already have!

^^+1.

Only law school finals, lack of funds, or a medical emergency could keep me from buying a C&V bike if the price is right and I want the bike.

The disease known as N+1 runs deep within my veins. I am incurable.

There is no cure, only periods of remission.

Once an addict, always an addict. You may be on the wagon, but soon enough the craving for the hunt and the satisfaction of closing the deal will catch you in a momnet of weakness. You may go day, weeks, even months, but you will fall off of the wagon.

Never fear though, we're here to help. Well, help with the falling off of the wagon part anyways.....

now you all realize that now that you have talked all about being "addicted" the NSA and DEA are going to be investigating each and every one of you for trafficing.
