Help identifying frameset...
 

Hi everyone,

I recently aquired this frameset here in Guadalajara, Mexico. It's been repainted and there is no serial number under the bottom bracket, I have not checked the fork - but will do so later tonight.

It has an English bottom bracket, Campy dropouts, a Tange Falcon headset and the fork dropouts also read tange. Here are some pictures:

Windsor?
hecho en México, made cinelli look alike frames. Given the fork crown (semi sloping)
that would be my guess.
Any markings on or under the bottom bracket?

It doesn't look like a Windsor. Benotto, maybe?

The top ends of those seat stays look quite "different".

The drive side dropout appears unusually cocked as well.

Nope, nothing on the bottom bracket shell.

Still haven't checked the fork, will try to do so tonight.

The frameset is quite light and rides nicely. What surprised me are the Campy dropouts, that kind of rules out the possibility of it being a Japanese frame - right? So I'm confused as to what it is.

I think the Tange fork may be a replacement, and the whole thing was repainted. The stay caps are unique and I don't recognize 'em, I suspect a good builder since those Campy vertical DOs wouldn't be used on junk, but...the lugwork doesn't seem stellar, nor that BB shell. It's an odd ball. I'd like another pic: a sharp close-up of the seat cluster.
edit, oh you said it was repainted, then the steerer may give you a clue as to whether that fork was original.
What size seatpost?

Sorry, I don't have a sharp close up. Seat post size is 26.4.

I checked the steerer tube last night, and all it reads is TANGE.

It is a strange frame, isn't it? The head tube lugs and the seat cluster are simple, but nice, and then the bottom bracket shell is just kinda plain. Could this be an Italian frame with an English BB shell? or maybe an English frame? I don't think the fork is original, otherwise the dropouts wouldn't be Campy... The frameset is definitely double-butted.

Any thoughts?
