Dang, it worked!

Some months ago I bought a TA triplizer 42 chainring, an inner 28 and a Campagnolo triple spindle. Finally got around to messing with it yesterday. After sorting out the thin/thick cups dilema and getting the crankarms back on, I tackled the year derailler. I've had this Rally cage for decades planning to use it on a Nuovo Record... there it is, actually seems to work pretty well, at least in the stand...

Very classic set-up, despite the alleged performance shortcomings of the Rally. I would be running that drivetrain in a heartbeat.

Is this Triplizer an off-the-shelf item at some super-cool parts store or merely an occasional Ebay find? Is it a regular TA ring with the right BCD and so on?

The middle is a special, TA made replacement ring to fit the NR 144, set up to take a small TA inner. I got them from Bicycle Classics:

Actually, works so well I just did a BuyItNow for a Rally on ebay!

Ah, no reason. Just never used these long cages... built a few bikes with NR triples, but always pulled it off with a NR rear. I think the Campagnolo triples are only 36 on the inner ring, this is a 28 I think.

The triple conversion is a standard TA product - check out this site, toward the end of the page under "Triple Conversion Chainrings".
