A very kehwl looking classic race bike that is so understated in a very classy way, but oozes very high quality when closely scrutinized... I also have to give ultra big props to the "unobtanium" status Assos crankset!:thumb::thumb: Many might give up a left nut just to find and own one of those for their next dream build....:D

Thank you! The Assos wasn't all that sought after at the time i built the bike, i could have gotten a few pairs (possibly should have) when i went looking for these. It was just that i like these odd bits no one else has, that led me to add them to that bike. Same for the Cobaltos, btw :)

My first plans for this bike was to install an Assos crankset on it when I built it up about a couple of years ago:
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y44...psbb1e7b53.jpg
But the difficulty of finding and affording an Assos crank during the build, pushed me to use an Edco Crasnkset I already had in hand instead, Plus, the Edco had been a crankset that I always wanted to try out since I first saw it in the 80's.
The Edco works good with the bike as I think its shape and finish kind of mimics the the lugs on the frame, but you might be able to see why the Assos would have been my first choice for the bike....

No need to change your mind. As your Pinarello pair proves, its nice to have "bookends!"
