I'm going this weekend to take a look at a Gios and would like some advice on what to look for, etc. The owner has had the bike since the early 1980's. It has Gios coins in the fork crowns and is all Campy components. That's all I know now. The pictures are not that good. So, any ideas? Thanks. Eyeball the top tube cable guides for rust, a common problem.

That sure has a short stem, even shorter considering the typical Gios geometry provides for short top tubes.

From personal experience, Gios back then was pumping them out, many had clean brazing but the rear triangle was not center to the front triangle, correctable but just a bother.

Whew! For a second, I thought it was mine!
Are the brake bolts allen bolt type or nut type?

If they are bolt on brakes, that would make it an older bike.

Looks like quite a smattering of replacement parts. Make sure the stress cracks in the crank aren't too bad and that you think they can be filed out. Then if the frame is dent free with no serious rust purchase it unless he is asking more than $600, then make a careful survey of the components to make sure it is worth it. Those crank is in decent shape are easily worth $200 and the frame probably $400 plus. Gios Super Records are highly coveted with a strong following. It's in my top 10.

The painted fork with the coin in the crown is definitely early 80s. Corrosion and paint problems are typical for the breed. The only identifying mark will be the frame size stamped in the BB shell (center-to-top).

This one needs a nice 11 or 12 mm Cinelli stem to go with the 66 handlebar.
