Your Vintage Bike in Action
Post a picture of your bike "in action" from it's era. It can be you (if you have owned the bike a long time), an old vintage ad, or any pix you find.
Here's an 84 Centurion Elite RS like mine being ridden in a mid 80's Triathlon. I wonder how long those helmets with chin straps were around?

About to head out with my Boy Scout Troop for a 40 mile ride on the C&O Canal Trail. This would have been in the Fall of 1974 or 75. At the time I was riding my Puch built Sears 10 speed. It was stolen in the Fall of 1976 from my college dorm. I'm the guy in the back with the red ball cap. I know, you can't see my bike.

1985 Prestige in 1985 ....(courtesy of A.Winthrop/T-Mar)
Now you know why Centurion sold well....
1989? GT Timberline at a 2007 triathlon. 15mph over 15 miles and I couldn't walk the next day.
1988 Ironman at a 2008 triathlon. (son's helmet, so cool). 18mph.
This year's first bike event, 22mph+ Same vintage rider, 50+ category.
And yep, that's Gene's hair. (Amani576)
I've had the pleasure of meeting him, and I'm sure we'll be riding our real steel bikes pretty soon.

I thought so, it was kinda hard to tell with the helmet on though. My hair used to be that length until last fall, when a friend convinced me it would be neat if I had dreadlocks again like I did in high school, and she could do it for me. Well, she failed! So my hair is just past my shoulders again.

My poor vintage bikes don't get much action at the moment
If you want a vintage looking frame in a new bike, check out Soma. I've ridden a few rides with a guy that has one and it is a very nice looking bike.

I'm disappointed in that. Bothers me every time she brings it up.

This one is from a few years back. I'm on my 1949 Raleigh Clubman and at the end of a Boston benefit ride, ending at Government Center:

The only shot I have that is close to being a action shot is my old Condor built swiss army bike that I set up as my fresh water fishing bike.

Here's a pic of moi and my 1st bike build, circa 1987 in NYC. The cars in the background are just as old. Man, I look so 80s.

Ok so this one's not actually mine (mine's light blue metallic) and it's not exactly in action, but I like to think that it was made just like this...
