Fantastic! That's a '71 Schwinn Le Tour, arguably the most comfortable road bike I've ever ridden, if not the fastest! I'm bummed you chopped the original handlebars, instead of just getting some cheapo bullhorns. Especially on a small red one. But to each, their own.

I'll have to get me some real bullhorns someday. I turned my dropbars upsidedown and used a pipecutter to chop my bars. I repositioned my crosscreek brake levers. My bike is now very comfortable.

That's what I've got on the Centurion-flipped and chopped drops. They were a free, bent set anyway. No big loss.

Wow! I LOVE the copper rails etc. on that Brooks! - Is that a standard option, or did you have it specially replated? Nice looking and well thought out bike altogether, the brake lever makes a lot of sense.

Thanks a lot! It's actually the B17 special from Brooks that comes copper plated.

Here's the measurement of my Nitto RB-018 bars. I unfortunately dont have a measuring tape so this is all I can offer.

The dangerous kind that makes steering and stopping together quite scary. :p

Nah, really, I have no clue.

Lever was explained on page 1...
I have one too, I like it but the short side is pretty much useless when it's hooked up to a rear brake. It would probably work better for a front brake, which I don't have right now. I like my nitto bars too, I use profile flat top section bullhorns on my raleigh track bike and like them too.

55/Rad Which Brooks is that? It looks like a swift, and am hoping it is not a swallow since my thin wallet would not allow a coming together.

totally late to the party, but i want to add one thing:

bullhorns only come in 26.0mm, except for the soma bullhorn that is 25.4mm. the op probably has a 25.4mm stem on that bike. this isn't an issue if you flip/clip flop/chop.

people will tell you not to shove a 26.0 bar into a 25.4 stem. it can be difficult and will scratch your bars, but it can be done. i did it:

It's a gran/dia compe shot lever. Pull from either side for the same caliper. I use it fo rthe front brake and so far so good. I'm in the flats most of the time so it works out well. I'm at the horns when I'm sprinting and after a sprint I always return to the flats to stabalize myself.

Bullhorns with inverted non-aero levers. The lever body doesn't interfere with my hand position this way

Dimension also sells 25.4 bull horns. Those are the only two that I know of.

I always forget but it is the cheaper of the 2 and it's been chopped.
