Unique bike

One of the most unique bikes i've ridden was called a Boingo bike. No pedals, rear axle mounted eccentric and vertical movement provides forward motion. Novel

I've done a few web searches, with different spelling but never found any info.

Have any of you heard of these??

It sounds like you're decscribing the Ingo-Bike from the mid-thirties.

Some Ingo-bike history.

I think he is referring to one of those short lived bikes that you "pedaled" like a Stairmaster.

Other search words to consider...

eccentric rear wheel
hula bike

That would be an Alenax. I've got one that I've been working on for a while. The thing is extremely hard to ride, let alone work on.

That is the one I was thinking of. Thanks.

Hmm...that one's different than mine. Mine's a road bike. I think that one looks easier to ride. Much easier actually.

Yes, the oingo is what I rode. I think it probably had 20 inch wheels, but not sure if the rear was bigger then the front.

Anyway it is a design concept I want to keep in mind.

How about swing away bikes has anyone ridden one of them?
