Bent fork. What to do??
OK, the Basso I just got has a slight bend (sideways) of the fork. Now, it's just steel, so I'm sure it can be bent back, but how is this done without cracking the chrome?
Anyone? Anyone? |
Should be ok if not severely bent: there's a Park fork alignment tool...

If it bent without cracking the chrome, it can be bent back without cracking the chrome. There's no big secret. Just start by using small amounts of force and increase the force gradually, until it just takes a permanent set. Or, take it to your LBS and let them deal with it.

Myself, a Basso is too good of a bike to learn on. I would take it to a shop that I had confidence in, and have them straighten it. With the right tools, they should be able to do it for not much money.
