Anyone know anything about Lepper saddles? I saw this on the 'bay and thought it looks interesting.
Thanks

For all their bad rap, I want to try one, for no other reason than to support a different saddle company, all I hear is brooks this, brooks that, no, let's increase the cometition until we really have some choice.

Seems as if there were a lot of leather saddle makers in the past and Brooks seems to have been the one that survived, perhaps the fact they were owned by Raleigh at one time they were able to keep the volume up long enough for a resurgence in demand. At least I think they were owned by Raleigh at one time, someone correct me if I am incorrect.

I can certify that they are an inferior product to Brooks. In the photo you will see a laminate layer underneath. This is a cheap parlor trick to excuse the poor quality leather.
Brooks is king because they are cranking out the same quality for a very long time. I am not simply saying they are bad because of others testimony. I have owned one and thought it was complete garbage.
To be specific...It was a sprung railed saddle. The springs would bounce and compress all over the place. they used plastic grommets to hold the springs together. The leather was so soft and supple that you could actually feel the springs compressing on the butt. It was very hokey in quality.
