My latest find, Shogun "Selectra?"

Needs the norm, cleaning, lubing, cables and such, found it on C-List. Going to do some interweb research on it but I'm sure the fine members of the C n V would like to add a few bits of info on it. (that would be appreciated!) Pics are of the bike "as found"

I like it. Nice seatstay caps and cleanly put together overall. A good 'park it without worry' bike.

And the name is awesomely Japanese happy-stupid. "I select yoo electra-bike!"

Bump :D

Nice! Get Crockett & Tubbs over here, PRONTO! Does that have rear eyelets but no front eyelets********** Also would you trade it for a carbon fork?:p

Nice bike. Do own a can of penetrating oil?

If it's made of Tange Infinity (which I am guessing it is) I have a very similar Shogun- same component mix (even the bizarrely long stem), same tires and bar wrap, except mine's a triple triangle. And it's purple. And it's called a "Katana" which screams "Japanese" a little louder than necessary. I've also owned a Shogun 800 and 1000, both made of Tange #2. They're all great bikes, although uncommon- they had some models substantially above the "bike boom" spec, but plenty of models below it too.

whats the tange tubing hierarchy?

Thanks!, yes, no. :p ;)
jgedwa, Thanks, believe it or not everything has come loose easily with no penetrating oil needed.
PunctualAlex, it is Tange Infinity and seems to be a very well built bike.
rotherpunc, don't know.

Nice find! Wish we had more of that kind of pickings around here!

Circa 1986-1988, the serial number may tell us for sure. Tangealoy forks but probably a slightly more upscale main triangle, such as 900, 1000 or Infinity. Upper entry level model, about $350-$400 US MSL. Well made, ecomnomical but functional components, good value, but nothing special.
