I have my fingers crossed...
I just saw a local CL ad and I may have found one of the rare Sears bikes worth finding... I have sent a message that I want it if it is still available.
The text:
Sears Free Spirit.10 speed with down turned racing handles. Center pull brakes. Light Weight Alcoa Frame
I suspect that they didn't have the frame in front of them, and in their mind remembered aluminum foil and put Alcoa instead of Reynolds...
The picture does look like it has alloy rims, which is a good sign... but other than that, I can't tell much other than it looks like it is my size.
Everyone send good C&V karma this way.
I won't waste time asking for info, but immediately go and look for myself, if it is still there.

I must be in a phase where I am doing a lot more reading than posting, because I am always reading in here... that and drooling.

WOW, and it is a bargain at $25. I hope it works out for you.

I just received an email response... I sent an email to stay in line, but it sounds like I may have missed out.
Hi Darwin,
I had a young lady called about it and she is supposedly taking it sight unseen. I will let you know if that falls through. Hope that is OK.
Talk to you later,
Bill

Dropped
Let's hope it's in poor enough shape only a C&V fool would take it! I agree, though, doesn't look like an aluminum frame by a long shot. Those reflectors look like 70s vintage. Is that a cottered crank?
