1977 S-10-S Find $25

I have a 1974 S-10-S Special Road Racer and today I found/bought a 1977 S-10-S 12 speed in very good condition. I plan to have it stripped and powder coated white with orange and blue decals (Go Gators!). The chain and freewheel are in decent shape but I plan to replace them. The crank arm etc. still have many many miles in them. I hope to be able to replace the 6 gear freewheel with a 7 or 8 gear but fear that the bike simply will not accommodate that. If not, I won't cry about it, the 12 speeds are sufficient. The wheels will go on the older S-10-S and I plan to have 44 spoke wheels made for this bike and use it in a touring set-up. Seat is the original Brooks knock-off.

Should look good in Denver Bronco colors.

Congrats on a nice catch.

You should be able to spring in a 126mm 7 speed wheel without any problem.

You might want to reconsider your color scheme - I vote for red and black (UGa, '84)

Had both the S-10-S and S-12-S. Great bikes. Hope there is still plenty of life left in the Belt saddle.

It has a few years, but I am going to mink oil it good and adjust the tension before a serious ride. Today is the day I take the before photos and start the tear-down process. It's my Easter/Birthday gift to myself.

Looks like (for $25) the Easter Bunny was already pretty good to you this year
