What is this??
Hi,
Picked this (i think) sirius frame up at the car boot today for a bargain £30! I have been told it could be a time trail frame from the 90s but I'm not sure. If any one knows how old it is, its use, value and how or what to build it up with any help and info would be great! (sorry for the messy bike room!!) http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...8/DSC_1514.jpg http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...8/DSC_1517.jpg http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...8/DSC_1516.jpg http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n...8/DSC_1515.jpg Thanks, Tom |
I'm gonna guess and say that it is a modern (+2000) custom build. The extended seat tube is a current design trend and 853 tubing is also current stuff.
Nice score by the way. That frame could have costed almost fifty times what you paid for it to build. **edit: Just looked up Sirius Bikes. They build BMX bikes. |
Hi Tom,
Looks like a time trial frame from the 90's. Reynolds 853 tubing was released in 1995. I think a 9 or 10 speed groupset would suit the frame. Either Campagnolo or Shimano would do. Thirty pounds sounds like a very good deal. Is it classic? It's not vintage. It's lugged and steel though. |
