A couple days ago on the local CL....

Really, sellers should not drink so much when typing their FS ads!

This means I've had something more than 1/10th of the surviving Jeunets in my hands over the years. This guys hyperbole is a bit over the top; try reading the whole thing. I dunno if the price is fair, it seems high to me, but the market is pretty weird, but then again, he refuses to ship...
Seems high to me too, considering mine has "100% chrome front forks" as well, and I picked up mine for free.

I guarantee you that we can name over 75 individual examples presently or previously owned by forum members here, and make him look like an idiot. Too bad it is not feasible to point out 500 existing examples.

Rarity in itself doesn't mean anything. It's rarity versus demand that's meaningful. I could get weld up my own bike and have absolutely one-of-a-kind world's-rarest bike, but that wouldn't make it valuable. Even if there's only 50 bikes like it, if there's only 49 people that want one, that 50th is going out by the road.

Of course - but it is one of many ways to take this fellow's statements and make him look stupid (not that he isn't already).

Beat up crappy seats for sale...

https://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/bik/1183789973.html

I am selling used bicycle seats for $5 each from brands such as Trek and Vetta. The large black seat on the top right in the top right picture is not available. Send me an email if you have any questions.

This is not a bad ad- just noticed it because of the earlier bike posted up there.
https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/bik/1184236777.html

"jeunet franch comte - $100
"a large frame 10 speed almost 36 inch from the floor to the seat call ( )"
And is that a bad angle, or does the top tube slope down to the front?

Bad camera angle, almost certainly.

Tired of his gay cranks? I guess the fad of calling things gay is still popular among adolescents in Spring, TX. It died everywhere else 2.5 years ago, lmao.,,,,BD

I'm annoyed with CL posters
https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/bik/1184564394.html

I sent an email asking if this is an actual picture of his bike and if he has any more I can see.

"yes, that is my bike, but the handlebar tape and water bottle holder are gone"

Well, that doesn't explain why it's the very first hit on Google Images. The "real" bike belongs to a guy in MI
https://www.cyclofiend.com/cc/2007/cc...ngton0907.html

I just sent the CL poster the link and said "no thanks" and he responded "you found the guy I bought it from"

I got an email from the owner of the photo saying he is still riding.

This is why I hate the high A-hole concentration on CL.

Can't see it in that pic, but that safety flag looks to be 8 feet tall.

I love people who feel the need to show off their 'possessions'; such as the 'vette w/carbon console and the "lovely" lady. I don't know whether to feel sorry for people like that, or if I should perhaps stop them from reproducing somehow.

candy bar used once $1 min - $10 maxm won't take less that a $1 because thats what I paid for it.
