That's how those came. The orange krate had the fenders and chain gaurd (3-spd).

You could get a Stingray without fenders, but I think the Fastback always had them. I don't think Schwinn sold any of them without a chain guard.

This is a Cannondale Volvo F700 Mountain Mix Bike

It has a whole mess of Shimano and CODA Features on the bike

It has no scratches / paint isnt chipped / runs great

Reason I say it is like New and never been used, because i did some work on a guys car and he didnt have cash so he paid me with this off the showroom which i saw he bought in front of my own eyes for $1,200... He gave it to me and i hanged it up in my garage never taken it down.

Im cleaning out my garage and i need the space and im not going to use it any time soon.

Bike is in top shape everything works.

Asking $675 or Best Offer

he bought it off the showroom what? Floor possibly? also, love how he "hanged it up in his garage", when everyone else wouldve hung it up.

He couldn't afford to pay this guy, but he had no trouble shelling out $1200 for a brand new bike "right in front of his own eyes" and just hand it to him. Let's see: with the LBS profit and taxes that'd be about 3Xs the cost of a cash advance on a credit card.

Just silly. Way too much unnecessary detail and obfuscation. This guy's story stinks like dead fish on the beach. A young hustler who ain't learned to K.I.S.S. and wait for a sucker to come along.

Sometimes things are open to interpretation. I took that ad to mean that the person owing the money had bought the bike in front of the other person before he owed the money to him. In other words, the guy bought the bike at a bike shop for $1200, with his friend present, then maybe a year or so later the friend did some work for him which he couldn't afford to pay for, so he gave him the bike as payment. Something along those lines.

+1

I think at least with the picture it is more informative than one that I read once, no pictures and the complete description was "Red bike"

Maybe...
but I think your interp is erring on the side of charitable. He goes through the whole drama of stating it was bought "before his own eyes", and "never been used", rather than just saying like new, got it from my bud who hardly used it. How would he know it'd never been used unless it was a buy and hand to situation?? Which is the claim I'm reading into his tortured verbage.

Could be he's just another sad victim of the Miami public schools, but I'm not buying this load of mule muffins story. I can't offer a motive beyond just the seller's lack of character: it's priced within the usual range for a nice Cannondale MTB in South Florida. But I've met plenty of guys who can't seem to conduct any business without deception, it's just their nature, and this stinks of that IMO.

Schwinn Varsity frame for $200 (or BO) + 50 shipping. I paid half that recently for a Trek True Temper RC butted frame.
And I would be really happy to get that half that for a working Varsity.

Well, I guess he has really lousy feedback. Oh.

WHAT?? it has DUI bars, dual rear view mirrors (on articulating arms noless) a custom matched rearmount kickstand and possibly bent fork. all those custom touches make this bike worth way more than $300

Specs are too numerous to mention, apparently, but at least the frame is made of "carbon" (which appears to have been welded in several places?). $1500 for a late '90s mountain bike with mysterious suspension? What a steal!

Stylin' bicycle (see photo) - $40 (oakland lake merritt / grand)

Reply to: sale-btgys-2760073729@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
This odd-looking bicycle was abandoned by my former neighbor when he moved. He said he was coming back for it but he never did.

This is an unusual bicycle, as you can see from the picture. I have never seen one like this before. I do not know if this was custom-made or possibly home-made. However, it's a very Oaklandish set of wheels. I especially like the styling flames.

The bike needs work. The chain definitely needs oiling. There are rust spots all over it (mostly around the joints), because it has been left out for the last year. I tried to cover it during the recent rains, but the garbage bags kept blowing off.

The tires seem to be solid. There is no lock, yet the bike has never been stolen from the driveway. Is it a magical bike? I legally cannot say such a thing in this ad. I wouldn't really call that a banana seat; maybe it's a plantain seat. There is a lamp on the handlebars that I think says, "halogen." Maybe it's "LED." It's too cold for me to go outside and verify that. Anywhere, there's a headlight.

While the rear tire is thicker than the front tire, it is not larger in diameter. I guess this does not qualify as a "penny farthing." Maybe it's a "penny pound coin." (If you're not British or an anglophile, that joke may have crashed like a lead zeppelin. Sorry.)

$40 or best offer. My wife is willing to trade for fresh game meat, if you are a hunter. (Seriously.)
