I like this line the best:

"Low ballers will be either ignored or replied back with a tremendously sarcastic email."

Priceless. I need to remember that one.

Geez! Painful for sure to even attempt to read the ad. Hilarious "fix", too.

Check this out, a classic '60s bike that has a interesting history and is only $99 what a deal. https://boston.craigslist.org/sob/bik/3498392485.html here you go:

Made In Italy. Really nice bike that was just tuned up and restored. Looks like it is from the 60s and was road in the italian cycle championship, the tour du france, and the giro of italy. also has simplex shifting system which is the Dura Ace of its time.

The bike is a 50cm frame which is good for someone who is 4'10" till 5'5".

If the bike is still listed on craigslist it means it is still available. price is firm. people who leave phone numbers will be first responces. Will be removed from craigslist once it is sold.

FEATURES : Brand new Tires, Simplex Derailleurs, 10 speed drivetrain, Kickstand

If I read this right that is the World Cyclocross championships, the TDF and Giro right?

This is the wacky part

" Made In Italy. Really nice bike that was just tuned up and restored. Looks like it is from the 60s and was road in the italian cycle championship, the tour du france, and the giro of italy. also has simplex shifting system which is the Dura Ace of its time. "

this bike was ridden in the TDF Giro and Italian championships! Perhaps I am wrong but I don't think this bike is from the '60s nor ridden in those races. If it was it is way under priced.

Just that it wasn't Shimano, that they never made an "800" series anything. He got back to me and hopefully corrected the description. He won't sell it for much, but, will hopefully retain some integrity (EBay integrity? Isn't that an oxymoron?).

This seems a little ridiculous to me. I do like those late 80's Schwinns but damn.

That's just a bbcbikes / Budget Bicycle Center ad. They've always made their prices up out of thin air, and I don't imagine anyone has ever bought one at their ridiculous asking prices.

lol more than once i've seen sellers on CL link to bbcbikes ads on ebay, saying "this bike sells for thousands of dollars but i just want $500".. i wonder how that works out for them. I remember seeing a 1987 Diamondback Arrival on CL for over $1000, with a link to one for over $2000 from BBC bikes. I emailed them to tell them that bbcbikes is crazy. They didnt change their price but i dont see the ad any more, so either they sold it, or realized it wasnt worth much and stopped trying to sell it

Maybe, just slightly overpriced. But, in the seller's defense, this Motobecane Mirage is in "prestige conditon". Except for that broken mirror.

You're too kind! The asking price needs to be adjusted, i.e. drop a zero off the back end. This is a sub-$200 bike at best.

I was typed that with my tongue firmly planted in my cheek. I guess I didn't make that too clear.

How about this one? It's been posted off and on for the last few weeks. I'm tempted to ask the seller if the bike comes with 3D glasses.

This one makes my brain hurt. How can a seller misspell so many words? Bonus points for using the tiny OEM picture, too.

Wisor Fens Road Bike (top of the line) - $399 (Clare)

https://centralmich.craigslist.org/bik/3512688990.html

2008 Winsor Fens oad bike. This bike is the top of the line with all shamono cranks derailers, also richi seat post with richi stem, shamono rims and carbonfiber forks, also spadomiter and odometer. It has a $250 seat on it and $150 arobars. This is the top of the line bike. Only rode 50miles just wasn't for me

Also, does that headbadge look homemade?

It's a 1987 Nishiki Olympic that emulates the style the Georgena Terry started. They are bikes designed for women around 5' to 5'4" tall. 24" front wheel and a 700 rear wheel. And that is the OEM headbadge, too.
