That does seem like a very high price for a frame with a dent and mismatched fork. Also I can't put my finger on it but this frame just doesn't seem quit right.

I'm wondering if you all could explain to me why this "EBay seller" has over 60 sets of used bar tape? Am I missing something here?

Yes since you can get 5 sets of basic black bar tape for $20 or so with shipping off Ebay.

Fixed gear? with a freewheel? Even if you figured out how to lock it from freewheeling, wouldn't it unscrew the first time you tried to stop?

The pricing is stupid.

If they were selling like 10 used handlebar bar tapes for 10 dollars, i would even consider buying them just because then that is pretty cheap and could be useful for flipped bikes or even donating to my co-op.

Well Juan the guy selling it says you can ride it home without worries. I know what he likely did stuck a pos FFS wheel which has basically fixed 5 speed rear on a pos cheapo bottom of the barrel Japanese frame from the 70's. Just so bad it can't be believed.

Common guys the used bar tape from a so called proffesional shop outfit this is just too much. I for one wouldn't put used tape on $150 flip bike and I'm basically one of the cheapest hacks here at BF build wise.

I learned that "fixie" doesn't necessarily mean fixed gear. Fixie can means 10 speed with missing cables or busted derailleurs.

Nothing wrong with pre-wrapped tape as long as the tape is in good shape. I've re-wrapped tape 3-4 times. As long as the tape was in good shape and wasn't damaged peeling it back up it is a simple matter of putting down a little extra double-sided tape under it and a good wrapper could make it look like a new install.

It's not just the tape, it's the hand laying it...

Not to mention the fact that his "buy it now" price for that gnarly used bar tape is so close to retail?!?

Oh, I see now! You have to "fix" it after you buy it.

This ad has been making my flip bikes look awesome in comparison. The bike with "CAMPY PARTS" started at over $300 months ago.
