+2 Lugged frame nice paint chromed front socks decent alloy Sugino crank. Sountour GT power shift Gt group. Considering condition it's worth the price. Nothing wacky here I can see.

^Really?! I thought it was a dud because of the turkey levers and stem shifters. Takaras in the area are pretty notorious for being super tall, heavy and low-end.

I bet that Takara was sold in Downtown where the Saturn dealer is now, on 3rd and Monroe.

Back in the 70's it was probably the biggest bike shop in Spokane. My buddy bought his Takara there. I am a Schwinn guy myself.

Adding to the consensus, I listed & sold a Takara similar to that last week for $130, and had four emails within 12 hours of posting the ad.

He said he'd negotiate. $100 might take it if you really wanted a Takara bike. I'm more impressed that he can keep up with his dad's Trek tri-bike.

The guy selling must be "vertically challenged". 22 inch frame isn't all that big...

that huffy ironman is probably the best huffy mtb they made.. 3 peice crank, canti bosses, i had one last year, it was beat to hell, but it had everything you would want, great commuter bike plus built in theft detterent, i gave it to my co-op because it was just in really poor shape... it was a shame tho i would have kept it for a winter beater.. oh well..

Normally you'd expect to see a bit more road-rash if this bike was put on its side. My guess is the bars ran into a traffic bollard or something similar - and that somebody's fingers felt really bad afterwards.

Ok, I just have to share this..

This may be a little tacky posting this, but the communication with this seller has been unbelievable.

The original ad showed this picture only and for obvious reasons, I wanted to see more pictures. This is our back and forth:

Hi, could I please see some more pictures?

That's all I'm posting. Come by and look at it

I live in Columbia, SC. I will be driving through Asheville in a couple of weeks. I would really need some more pictures if I would think about stopping by.

Ok, thanks for your time then. I'm not sure what you'd be looking for on a 25 year old bike for $250 that might change your mind, but I'm guessing no picture would give you that info. May stick around Columbia. It will be easier to see something in person

I guess I was confused, because the ad said more pictures were coming. It is your bike, and you can do whatever you would like, but most buyers would like to see the actual stem, bars, condition of the components, and a model number. I did not think I was being unreasonable in my request.

It says pics coming soon, not more. and everybody thinks by seeing pictures you're guaranteed a better item. If it is too much risk to see something in person it is not worth it

I'm sorry, but I'm simply selling a bike. If people need more info then they should expend the energy to find out themselves NBC quit asking everybody for more pics like that is going to substitute for being able to judge the quality of something. I could put 10 pics up and somebody will ask "got anymore pics?"

I didn't feel the need to respond. I completely understand someone "simply selling a bike" a bike, but I think it is natural for someone to want to see something before they commit to stopping by and looking. After this communication, he added another picture and edited the ad to say "Do not request pics". Weird stuff...

^Got into an email exchange with a guy selling a Frankenbike 1962 Continental as a rare 1952 secret Schwinn prototype. He was only asking $1500. When asked for more proof, his response was "You ask too many questions to buy this bike".
