Well, what with the sequesters, I suppose the postal carriers could use some options.

https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/3762464809.html

A clown bike is still, ultimately, a clown bike, even with a single identified Campagnolo part to give it "class".

https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/3762299394.html

In case the buyer couldn't decide whether to go stealth or full bozo-the-clown, this guy includes both parts for the low price of six benjamins.

New additions to the "depreciation never happens, so charge nearly what you paid" category.

https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/3728504504.html

Too much money for too many things wrong, including a bent fork.

https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/3745932921.html

Protip - Just because clown bike owners in your city regularly try to extort unrealistic prices from the masses doesn't mean you can ditch the derailleurs - or that anyone was being fooled.

The scary thing is that the above items took fifteen minutes to find.

Once again, Philadelphia in a nutshell.

I didn't misspell it, that's the way it was posted on CL - I thought it was darn funny and visualized those clown bikes with wheels built with off center hubs.

IM not sure what this is worth, but this looks like its been ridden more than once, or at least was stored in very poor conditions.

It is pretty obvious that this frame is not NOS it has obviously was a bike that had been ridden quit a bit at some point.

That "Cimarron" is a '70-'73 Ladies' Suburban with a repaint, decals and some modifications (one of which is a bent fork). <g>

^I was wondering about that! The bike doesn't seem high-end enough to have double-butted CrMo tubing.

WTF??? How did so many idiots bend their forks then think they could sell their bikes without anybody noticing?? I know we are "low-grading" the crazy bikes, but this seems to be a common theme here.

Start the racing season this spring with a winning racing bike. 2007 but like new and only used for one exciting racing season. SIX RACES WON!

This is a lightweight professional racing bike with a Sinz plastic racing seat and Sinz petals. THIS BIKE IS DESIGNED FOR SPEED AND WINNING RACES!

Comparable bikes will usually cost well over $350.

If you want to win races, this is the bike. Because I won races with it.

I believe it is a combo of a couple of things.

Sure, some are dirty dealers trying to palm off a bent bike on an unknowing buyer. But, I think many sellers are just people selling a bike from their garage.

Many riders rarely look from a distance at the drive side of their bike. Most look at their bike from above or close up from the non drive side. Until they are shown, those sellers just don't see the damage.

yes i suspect most bent fork sellers may not have even noticed it was bent, especially if the bike is still usable.

People sell cars with all sorts of problems so it's not that crazy really

Doesn't look like a Schwinn head badge to me though the ad says "1952 Schwinn Racer." Interesting chainring though...

^Looks like a Schwinn lightweight with the front chainring off an excercise bike. I'd give him $25.00

I bet it is fun to ride. Looks like around 90 gear-inch.

Not exactly fast off the line.
