I don't know why, but this cracks me up.

https://tampa.craigslist.org/psc/bik/3770156901.html

One of a kinda veracycle Vera Bradley bianchi single speed road bike - $200 (Tampa)
Bike is in great shape. The frame will fit a person that around 6 foot tall. The graphics are amazing. The top tube pad is made from retired Vera Bradley bag. This is a 1 of a kind bicycle and will definitely turn some heads. The ride is super smooth. There was a ding in the top tube in is covered by the top tube pad. Any questions feel free to email me. I will update more measurements of the bike as soon as I get home.

That's hilarious. I really want to see what's under that pad.

It took me a couple of minutes to figure out set pole and set. Too funny!

The crack in the BB shell is the dealbreaker there. Welding it trashes some of the value it might have had if it was an intact frame in better condition.

You never know, though - there's probably some idiot collector out there willing to pay big dollars for that bike, assuming it's a true antique. Having been to the northern Central Valley a few times, I'd tend to doubt the seller's veracity.

Yep - DC hipster scumbag marketing at its finest.

The bikes direct mini velo offering is $300 shipped which beats this guy's price in person price.. plus if you have a problem you don't have to go near the hwy
There's even a Mercier branded one with gears.

https://www.bikesdirect.com/products/mercier/nano.htm

Soma makes one with gears, too - though at considerably higher price (since that 'urban' cachet has to count for something).

After looking around, I saw old Ross and Takaras for upwards of $600 - it was insane. Can anyone explain how that place stays in business? Do they hide gold or precious gems in random frames or something??
When you mark up bikes $500 instead of $50, you only have to sell 1/10 the number to make the same profit. It also probably gets a newb to accept a "special" deal on a POS for $350. I can hear them now: "This bike over your budget? This is your lucky day. The boss told us we need to move this other similar bike, NOW. If you are ready to buy, for you only, right now, $350". That cuts their markup down to just $250.

Apparently, it works for them.

Vintage tall guy Schwinn World - for nearly three hundred dollars.

https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/3785308216.html

Kinda junky and overpriced - though once owned by a dirty narcotics cop or some such thing, according to "Harvey". Dad wants it out of the garage.

https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/3783078245.html

Overpriced Continental, post clowning.

https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/3777613583.html

The price is reasonable, for what it is - a vintage Scwhinn. Add a "g" at the end and you can use it for Wayne & Garth's top ten lists.

These always make me cringe. All these chrome "lowriders" used to be a sold by a site called www.bicycledesigner.com for 2-3 hundred bucks. They have since discontinued the sale of bikes altogether, thank goodness. Which means someday ads like this will stop appearing.

OMG, this made my internal grammar police checker twitch off the scale. Ugh, are people really that stupid with spelling? I mean that one ad was off the scale.

Here we go again.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1977...item2c6eb82f76

There's a reason why it's rare. Huffy bikes tend not to hold up over time.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Cheetos-Chester-Cheetah-Motorcycle-Bike-chopper-cruiser-bicycle-purple-muscle/251271397299?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a80f13fb3
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1948-SCHWINN...item19dc2b33cb

Even with the motors bolted on, you can't shine excrement.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/SCHWINN-VARS...item27d29a5d0f

This could only have come from California. Fifty bucks says the bearings need to be repacked.
