The weirdest Craigslist ad I've seen

This is an old bike I've had laying around for a while and thought I oughta sell it to somebody that will restore it.

Overall good shape for the age. Needs some reconditioning and probably should have new tires. Other than that, everything appears good.

I'm advertising it as is where is. I'm not an expert on antique bicycles but think this one has a lot of potential.

Also have a frame only for sale.

Bring chainsaw.

That's the oldest bicycle joke in the book. They've been floating around the Internet for years.

the bicycle belonged to Don Puz, who in 1954 left his bicycle in the woods, forgot about it and never went back looking for it.

It didn't take long for that ad to get flagged. Thanks for busting that myth. Holden.

After a month of no one buying, the seller has dropped the price to a very reasonable 300.00. Don't let it get away!

The Giant with the chainsaw engine is still available.

Giant mountain bike that has had a McCullough chainsaw engine attached. The chainsaw drive has a gear reduction and has a throttle grip located on the handlebars. Price is negotiable.

I'm not sure what would be more likely to result in a divorce: if I came home with another bike, or another dog...

A piece of rawhide tied to the bottom bracket might be an effective removal method.

If the definition of madness is to do the same thing over and over again expecting a different result then this person is insane. This ad has been running forever with no change in the picture or wording. Not only posted everyday but sometimes multiple times a day. I check it every so often out of the odd chance that it might actually go down in price, which I have my doubts it is much lower than when it was new.

I have that stand; it was $35, delivered, from eBay. It's not worth $20.

Used fixed gear bike

2 year old fixed gear bike. I have it posted cheap because both tires need new tubes and a new bolt to hold in one of the pedals. Might cost ya $35 for all of that. Still a great bike in good condition.

oh man, I've been overseas for too long. Completely forgot about the dumb stuff people do to crappy-to-average bikes here.
While spinning wrenches in France, I saw some lonesome "upgrades" done to these things, but this here takes the cake.

Holy cow! Is that a forty year old bike with indexed brifters? How can this be? Magic? Be the coolest kid on the block. I just did 50 miles in the hills on this thing and it flies! 56cm frame. Best fit for 5'8" to 6'0". 2x9 drive train. New tires, tubes, chain, crank, brakes and shifter. Take it for a ride. Tell the truth you want a French bike. What you see is what you get except for the pump and computer. Buy your own.
