(The bike is evident at about 58s in that video)

Walton also rides a San Diego-made Holland ExoGrid Ti. (I'm sure he has a lot of bikes). There used to be a pic on the HollandCycles.com website, but they've reorganized. This article shows Walton on many different bikes, including two different Hollands. Here's a good pic of his fancy orange one. Looks like this might be the same bike as in the video?

FYI that's titanium tubing with carbon sleeves through the middle, with lots of diamonds cut out to expose the carbon and I guess save weight?

It looks like since the seller wasn't getting enough responses she decided to raise the price a little.... hopefully to entice greater interest in this bike.
That ad has been up for quite some time.
Yeah, it kind of seemed unlikely that it hadn't made the to to wall-o-ridicule if the listing was more than 3 months old. I scrolled back to about mid Dec '14 & didn't see it.
It came up on another forum and this bit of info turned up elsewhere on the web regarding the failed GURU. It pops up in a discussion on Roadbikereview in Nov of last year also. In short, the seller is in possession of a bike who's structural integrity failed during a ride - which caused serious injury - and GURU, having been bought, sold and restructured wouldn't honor their liability in the matter.

MIXTE RACING AND OTHER STUFF I DIDN'T KNOW

RARE Vintage Classic Bikes / Schwinn / Raleigh / Nishiki

My Dad has asked me to sell his collection of vintage bicycles, all of these bikes are in good condition and have been stored inside for most of their lives but they all need some work to be daily riders. Most of these bikes were ride-able when put in storage but they have been in storage now for about 25 years.

Schwinn Continental

This bike was originally purchased at Russell's Bike Shop on Firestone Blvd in Downey California by my Dad's friend, it has the original Schwinn seat in excellent shape and the brake powered head light and taillight set-up he originally purchased when he bought the bike!
I am asking $399 obo
Didn't know that you could power something with a bicycle brake. Must be the special Prius model. That alone would make it worth $399

Schwinn Varsity
I remember my Dad bought this bike about 30 years ago and road it back and forth to Oregon State when he was going to college to get his degree.
I am asking $249 obo
Just put a Varsity in a time capsule, wait a few decades, and there you go. But this one was left out in the mud.

Schwinn Traveler
My Dad bought this bike for my Mom about 30 years ago so they could ride together, my Mom rode this bike back and forth to work for several years when I was a kid.I am asking $199 obo

Vintage Raleigh
This was my Mom's original bike that she had before she got the schwinn traveler. These bikes sell for upwards of $1,000 and more restored
I am asking $499 obo
Yeah, because it's a Raleigh. Some Raleighs sell for thousands...

Nishiki Custom Sport
This bike my Dad bought from a friend about 20 years ago that used in in competition. My Dad only rode the bike a few times then something went wrong with the derailer and my Dad put it away in the garage. These bikes sell for around $700 to $900 restored.
I am asking $499 obo
Picture shows this is a mixte. You remember all those mixte stage races, right?

Continental made in the USA
This was my Sisters bike for a while when we were kids.
I am asking $199 obo
Was his sister famous or something?

I like the rear derailleur on the Nishiki.
It keeps it from snagging on road debris.

I think the problem with the seller's logic is that pristine originals at least may have high asking prices, even for Schwinns.

Restored junkers get laughed at.

I'm not sure I see the Raleigh he is talking about, but the blue Schwinn Mixte might be worth $50 or so. Maybe $25 for the Nishiki. The rest are scrap.

I sent the seller a note asking for a photo with no response, not that I was convinced that it would be easy to get home, but never got a response back.

I know this isn't old enough to really be C&V but it's got to be rare. Not special, just strange. Like my XR800, I wonder how many of these might have been sold at all. Cannondale R300 junior model with 650 wheels. Check out the proportions of the rear triangle.

With the riser stem and seat post, obviously not being ridden by a junior person.

I don't know, 2-3 times the actual value seems par for the course for many CL sellers. At least that's a pretty nice bike if you were to get it for ~$250 or so.

Some people on Craigslist price their stuff low.
Others mark it high.

It is often hard to get a good valuation on stuff on both ends of the spectrum from flawless to heavily abused.

I just skip over most stuff that I think is beyond what I want to pay, and rarely dicker over prices unless I find something very special, rare, and over-priced (for me).

Perhaps some sellers expect to haggle over prices and build that into their asking price (even if they list it as 'FIRM").

There are a few local bikes that have been reposted for a year. At some point one would think the sellers would get the picture that nobody is buying for the asking prices. And, while classics may hold their value, many things just get old as manufactures come out with the latest and greatest.

"Blue Bike" is a good description. Maybe a Schwinn Collegiate.
It is rare that I get 2 flat tires on a bike. I wonder if it merely needs the tires pumped up.

I was at Goodwill a while ago when somebody complained that all the $5 bikes had flat tires.

I cannot figure this one out. This was a decent MTB, way back in 1995, with a full STX group. What am I looking at now? It has a four arm crank, a suspension fork, Avid brakes and XT shifters. Has it had a steady diet of upgrades over the years, or was it lately harvested for its groupset and rebuilt from the parts bin?

Seriously, would you have known it was a blue bike if the seller didn't list it in the title?

That's exactly the way I work Craigslist too. If their price is good then I'll just pay it. If I think it's too high I'll just pass. I really don't want to dicker with someone at all, so if I've contacted a seller it's because I already think their price is fair.
