Not vintage, but this "$6,700" Pinarello Graal on Craigslist looks suspiciously like a cheap copy from alibaba.com.

Doesn't really matter if the Pinarello is real or not with the cracked screwed up frame it isn't raciable even if fixed so not a lot of value. $500 seems high even if real and the posters idea that it can be fixed and painted for a $1000 and be worth seven thousand is just insane.

There are a lot of people who claim that a professionally repaired carbon fiber frame will function as well as a new cf frame. So, assuming the bike is being bought for riding... it may not make a difference, and one could reasonably justify buying and repairing the damaged CF frame. There is a good market for damaged CF products on E-Bay.

The fake CF frame vs real CF frame is another issue. If they are made identically, perhaps with the same molds, and same CF fabric, then it might not make a difference.

One might want to ask what happened to the damaged frame. Was the rider just riding along on a Sunday afternoon ride, or was it damaged in a high speed crash? I.E. Is there a fundamental flaw in the alleged fake. And, of course, if the fake is a $500 frame, there is no sense in spending $1500 to repair it.

Nothing wrong with the ad, but I find this bike (specifically, the head tube) a little disturbing.

That is creepy, but still super-cool. Color-matched Silca Impero is also a nice touch. Yet again however, when trying to sell a bike for thousands of dollars, just put some new tires on it! If it's possible that vintage, dry-rotted tubulars have any kind of value, include them as well, but seriously!

I thought this was some special tool at first, the thumbnail doesn't show its scale. But once you do click on it, it looks like the cast iron harp of a piano.

Biomega MN02 frame .MuseumSpecimen

Biomega MN02 designed by Marc Newson (Glow in the dark)
Extremely rare in this condition...

Original invoice from 12/14/2000
have all the documents for the provenance for this ART/DESIGN piece

FRAME ONLY ... currenty part of a private ART Collection.

$1500.00
This frame is straight from the mint, never made for trim, never accessorized. Just a very few tiny scratches (I blame the US Custom on that).
It is just a great sculpture as well, part of the MoMa permanent collection as well.

The Aussies are putting it at a hefty price there:

Here is an early 90s Specialized HardRock listed for more that it sold for 20+ years ago.

At least the listing has been updated and it's no longer called a road bike.

1980 altera bike by volvo $199.
The only place I've ever seen one of those before was at the Bicycle Museum of America in New Bremen, OH...

For anyone who's interested, the text on the sign reads, "The bicycle boom which followed in the wake of the 1974 oil crisis inspired a small group of engineers in Gothenburg to develop a bicycle in fiber composite plastics. The bicycle was just as heavy as a standard bicycle, but it was slightly more flexible. The bike was never a success."

Record Du Monde" is not a model name, its not a large frame, the components are far from new, its not that rare a bike, its a terrible deal, the condition is fair at best, and it certainly doesn't look like its in "excellent" working condition. Other than that, great ad!

Every component I see except the tires is covered with rust and needs at least a 3 week bath in oxalic acid!

Peugots With an Identity Crisis

First one is a "PX10" with exclusive "MOFO" tubing.

His cross-town cousin is at least open to being pretty much anything in Peugeot's range. The crankset, tubing sticker, components, dork disk and steel rims would all make up an ingenious way to hide a PX10 and confuse the would be thieves.

Both priced to sell like hotcakes.

You should buy that Trek and put it out of its misery.

Since it is a Postal Service era bike...
I think it needs a bottle cage.
