I can't recommend that one go to Maury St. with $400 cash in their pocket. Particularly to meet with someone who doesn't write any better than that.

"Hybrid tricycle. Ape-hanger handle-bars, chopped Giant brand tricycle mixed with the fork and peddles from a unicycle as a front wheel, 27 X 1 3/4 road-bicycle wheels & tires, a Cannondale seat, and a basket.
Single-speed, front-wheel drive, three-wheeled amazing."

Hello,
I saw your comments about this Paramount.
I finally got a chance to buy it at a lower price.
I had Richard Schwinn do a Provenance report.
It being a 1978 Paramount meant Schwinn wasn't
keeping much in the way of record keeping. I was
able to learn it was a P-13 (most probably Ver.2)
It was black as delivered to Poulin Cycles of Augusta, ME.
So you were correct it being a repaint and that's
probably when the bottle brazes were added. Also
the incorrect Paramount & Schwinn labels from a
1980 series Paramount too.
I do automobile detailing and after getting it, I detailed
the whole bike and it looks fantastic. I know it's not
original but it is a Paramount and has great components
when I got it. The person who sold it said it was his
father's pride & joy. His father ran a bike shop in Chester
and recently had passed away. The Seller was a nice
person but didn't have much in the way of history other
than he knew it belonged to his father. I found you and Tronnyjenkin's post when I did a "google search of the
serial number.
I have an older 1974 Schwinn Le Tour and a 1989 Schwinn Circuit. I love my Circuit but the Paramount with all the upgraded equipment will be my favorite.

Nice bike but pricy, and I question the "all original parts" with that stem/bar combo and drilled brake levers, and I suspect a refinish with those bottle boss braze-ons. Pretty, but not for that price.
***Edited one day later for price drop. Who wants to guess where this ends? ***
1978 Schwinn paramount (vintage) - $1800 (chester)
1978 Schwinn paramount (vintage)
1978 Schwinn paramount (vintage) - $2500 (chester) This is the original price.

condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: schwinn
model name / number: The Paramount
serial number: a7812
I am selling a schwinn paramount bike. My schwinn paramount is in excellent condition. All originial parts except for the seat.

I also called on the Chester area but my only customers there were brothers who, to my knowledge, had no kids. Let me know the guy's name; it might remind me of someone else I knew down there.

I sent you an email. I didn't want to share the gentleman's name due to he might not want it shared on the forum.
If you know anything more about the bike, I would appreciate the input? Thank you again for the reply!!

That is just super! I'm really glad you were able to buy the bike of your dreams with a little help from me. I was a bike rep for years in the pre-internet days and my favorite part of the job was looking for stuff in my territory for dealers and their employees in other parts of my territory. New or old stock in any of the bike shops I called on, cars, motorcycles, bikes, whatever anyone was interested in finding I'd keep an eye out for so they could get it. Loved hooking folks up.
I also called on the Chester area but my only customers there were brothers who, to my knowledge, had no kids. Let me know the guy's name; it might remind me of someone else I knew down there.

As bad as this ad is^, I've seen plenty on CL that literally just said 'bike for sale, good condition'. And that was entire ad..
