Looks like a decent bike, but the frame size restricts its market. Nice parts, but $700 is "optimistic" IMHO.

Why not just describe one's bike as a BEAUTY?

I'm not a big Raleigh fan, but why not take off that hideous seat cover, put on a decent (not necessarily expensive) seat, and put on some bar tape.

It has also lost its branding, but I can't quite make out the text on the top tube. Is that the previous owner's name?

Odd dual bottle cage setup. Perhaps a bit obsolete with the modern oversized bottles.

Anyway, the full campy group set may push it up in value a bit, but I think the bike needs a bit better overall presentation if the seller wants to get top dollar out of it.

Seems odd to have a Rally derailleur on a frame without eyelets. You could recoup some of the cost by selling that and swapping in a more pedestrian NR or SR derailleur. Besides, you don't have hills in Tampa, do you? I doubt you'd ever need the Rally's chain wrap. You could also swap in a set of NR pulley cages and sell just the Rally cages. Then you'd have a derailleur which shifts about as well as a Shimano Dura-Ace of that vintage.

1st gen Rally derailleurs go for significantly more than NR derailleurs of the same vintage, at least by judging sold prices on eBay. They do have a weak spot though. If you go check out the bike, check to see if it has the reinforcement of the "1.1" version. Here are the two Velobase entries for comparison:

VeloBase.com - Component: Campagnolo Rally (1st generation, unreinforced hanger neck)
VeloBase.com - Component: Campagnolo Rally (1.1 generation, reinforced hanger neck)

and here's a close-up of that reinforcement from the second URL:

Well let's see, at approximately $1.20/pack in 1990, 400 packs would be roughly $480 (about $870 in 2015 dollars). *EDIT* here is a great (short) read on these bikes: Fuji Marlboro folding bike

Emphasis and context. Describing it as "a beauty" would not be quite the same as calling it "be-yoo-tee-full"(aka B-U-T-ful).

I just think of the buttocks being full of something as not something I'd associate with beauty. One can use capitalization and bold, but misspelling a common word isn't particularly inspiring... and misspelling it over and over and over and over???

No doubt the $1000+ market is a tough market to flip bikes in, but after a year or so, it is time to try something else.

Yeah, I think unless they budge on the price we'll be seeing this one for a while on the local CL. I swore there was another close up picture in an earlier version of the ad that showed the frame chrome and it was not pretty.

I had a pair of these levers on a bike, and thought they were real comfortable and looked nice. Well, here's a plug for everyone's favorite ebay seller. For just shy of $500, someone could own an 'ok' set of vintage brake levers(and hoods).

The only issue: the hoods must be purchased separately..

LOL. Quick online check shows these sell for $349 and there are at least 12 stores in central Texas with these bikes in stock. Greedy sucker thought he'd buy out his local store and then quadruple his money.

I don't see any rod brakes. Maybe they have two bikes and used the wrong photo?

**EDIT** I went to see it and it has sold, whatever it was. If a Sports as pictured it was priced fairly. If truly a Tourist as described it would have been a good deal. Seller did not know the ad was still up. Permit me the luxury of saying, "Moron."

Add them to the Cabbage Patch Kids and Beanie Babies collector items that people went to ridiculous lengths and spent many bucks to acquire that now can be purchased at any flea market or yard sale for peanuts.

Hope it likes it cause he's gonna have it for a long time!
