Only a fraction of that is due to being stretched into a wide format picture.

Do you think it was accidental or intenional?

Brakes in front so not a bad front end accident.

Maybe an Evel Knievel bike?

There are no pix to verify my claim, but I believe this is probably the same frame a guy here in Evanston was trying to sell for a long time at a lower price ($400-ish I believe, now asking $600). At the time, it included pictures and had a bunch of parts, at least derailleurs and shifters. Now there is no mention of other parts.

Extremely Rare "3Rensho" Athlete Frame

Looks like he was trying to achieve a lower bottom bracket and longer wheelbase -- mission accomplished! It's a lowrider!

My guess is that the bike was wheelied by someone talented at getting the bike up on one wheel but less graceful at getting it back down. I knew a guy so good that he could bring the front wheel back down to within an inch or so of the ground and keep going, but most riders are much less talented, with this the eventual result.

I actually got curious enough to email the seller and ask what happened, this is what he said:

"I did not realized that the forks were bent so I will have to look for another set or part it out"

Make of that what you can lol. I'm torn on the accident vs intentional question, on one hand it could have gotten that rake from being slammed down a lot or more likely jumped with the rider coming down hard on the bar... but look at how much damage we are talking about here. That's a steel fork, it's more like a barn fell on it than a teenager.

On the other hand, it could have been intentionally done to make the bike look cool, and in a horrible kind of way, it does... but with the pedals wanting to scrape, the front end wanting to flop around, the BB going down and back making for awkwardly upright seating, and the front brake being out of line with the pull (harder to use) it certainly wouldn't be very ridable like this even assuming the headset still lines up. Plus if you put the effort into somehow bending the fork legs evenly you'd certainly know how to adjust the seat to match the new geometry before trying the bike out and notice that it's still angled for pre-bend riding...

So idk. I'd say it looks accidental given that nothing on the bike has been adjusted to compensate for the new geometry, but then again there doesn't appear to be any additional damage to the bike so I have a hard time imagining what exact scenario led to this. A couple high rez pics would clear it up pretty quickly, but sadly the seller didn't sent any at request =/

A person recently brought a BSA folding paratrooper bicycle to my nearest LBS to get it fixed up. Even the drivetrain - including the chain - was painted with olive drab. Said chain was also still working well (after 70+ years of little to no maintenance) except in the unpainted spot which had developed rust.

Of course, it wouldn't shock me if lead had something to do with it.

I agree but I think it would be a lot of work to get anything out of that bike.

Don't see the problem with that one. That's what that model bike actually looks like. The top and down tubes are curved.

Found on eBay, for that much they could at least clean the dirt off and change the cables or maybe not charge $150.00 for shipping!

Yeah, nothing obviously damaged on the GT, but IIRC, that is one of the bikes that came with 700D wheels, replacements for which no longer exist in the wild - you can ride it until the tires wear out then you have to throw it away (admittedly you can probably switch to 650B wheels, but throwing out would be the next best thing).

Star Wars Fat Tire Bicycle

Asking $200 more than it would cost to go pick one up from Target, and no test rides allowed ('cause that might lead to rapid depreciation ). It's also at the other end of Ohio, so it violates Craigslist's "spam" rule against posting "non-local content." Then again, I guess stormtroopers are known for their terrible aim.

To be fair, I did exactly this to my 1990-ish Novara. Too many bad wheelies by an overweight kid on an inexpensive bike.

That might be the best single pic to summarize the 80's that I've ever seen. I can also see Mario Cipollini getting inspiration from this as a teenager.

Hopefully the throngs of buyers that show up wont be put off by not being able to test ride that beauty.

I got a little chuckle out of this one.
Unfortunately no PHOTO

700c disc wheelset w/ tires - $100 (glendal)

The ad looks pretty straight forward, although it would be nice to know a bit about the rims and hubs one's buying.
700c disc wheelset w/ tires - $100 (glendal)

Rims are less then 1 year old.

Come with newer 700x28 Specialized Nimbus tires.

Come with Quick release
Then one gets to the last line.

100 w/o tires
As far as I know, there is no Glendal in Oregon, although there is a Glendale which is nowhere near Eugene (about 118 miles away). It might be ok if the seller had some plan on getting the wheels to the potential buyers.
