A friend and his wife turned their old barn into a bed & breakfast/reception hall and she painted an old bike all white as a decoration out front. I informed them about ghost bikes and the bike is now Sunflower Yellow.

Is seller simply scamming?

Does seller actually think this could be considered a "classic bike"

Either way, per ad:

"Roice union bike from 1904 classic bike make me a offer $$$$"

Ps The I isn't beside the Y on the keyboard so I can only believe seller deliberately typed Roice instead of Royce in spite of stickers on the frame

^^^^ It's amazing (and a bit depressing) to see how much "phonetic English" is used in a medium (Internet/computer communication) that is, by definition, never heard or spoken (except by the visually impaired).

As for the bike itself, the "1904" was probably another stoopid speed-type gaffe, probably intended to be 1984. This would still be wrong, since it's more like a 1974. Technically it is a "classic", given its age, and the fact that so few people bothered to keep (let alone maintain) a POS like this for so many years. It's like seeing a '78 Plymouth Volare at a car show; the very fact that it was one of the worst cars of the era makes it "rare" today.

Who knew Schwinn made a 67-inch bike? And yeah, it's tall, but tall enough for a vertical photo? Um, no....

Schwinn Traveler - $120 (Windsr/Deforest)

Schwinn, Traveler; for tall riders, 67 in. frame, old school generator lamp, excellent condition, good bike hasn't been used, needs to find a new home. Will only sell in person, no mailing, no shipping, no scammers.

(Oh, and you always gotta love the "no scammers" comments. When was the last time you saw a CL ad with "scammers welcome"?)

Two things: Presentation is the first and most obvious, of course, with one lousy shot of an inverted bike and some other junk in the photo, but take a closer look at the bike. Can't read the downtube sticker, of course, but probably a decent touring frame to judge by the chainstay length and resulting wheelbase. However, note the cut-down canti posts. Jeez. "Ima make it bettah!!!

Not sure if this belong here or in the "Ebay / CList deals"....

Interesting no doubt:

https://denver.craigslist.org/bik/d/...651209896.html

Selling a size 56cm Reynolds steel road bike.

Used this bike to train for one of my 3 Olympic games. Its been with me for 20 years but I never ride it anymore.

Campagnolo Super Record breaks, and I think Bottom Bracket.

Campagnolo C-Record head set and cranks.

Bullseye hubs

Cinelli stem

Wolber wheels

I took off the Derailleurs and leavers and sold them a few months ago (sorry).

Frame has a sloping top tube so you can turn this bike into a time trial frame if you want by removing the spacer in the head set.

Peddles and phone holder thing not included.

$250

this bike need to be ridden.

Email for questions.

I would think that someone with such long exposure to a bike of that quality would know how to spell "brakes," "levers" and "pedals."

He can't even spell Fil.

But - 'phone holder thing'. Not simply 'phone holder'. Must note in addition that that it is also a 'thing'. Brilliant!

Racing/ Touring Bike Univega

The handle bars are in the position that it can be used for touring but a quick adjustment puts them in a position that can tour or get down on the drops.. Handle bars are obviously adjustable.
The seller is *obviously* aware that the handlebars are adjustable. Is he aware that brake levers are adjustable, too?

Also it cost $600 back in the day, according to him...

Jeez, isn't anyone old enough to remember the Captain Kangaroo show? They featured a Kunstrad segment at least once a month in the Treasure House. Or, how about someone old enough to remember the movie Quicksilver? There was a brief segment when the couriers were hanging out at the office and kidding around and that featured Kunstrad.
