Well, actually, that's the point: the bike originally came with a fully-painted fork, not a chrome one.

The earlier SCs had chrome fork socks. I don't recall what the fork on my 72 SC looked like when I stripped it, but typically the whole fork is chrome with only the bottoms polished out. Perhaps the 1980 forks were this way as well.

Also, a fork replacement on a vintage Raleigh doesn't necessarily imply damage. Could be that the headset was trashed and if the steerer tube thread was 26tpi as it is on my 72, a new fork may be a better way to go than sourcing a 26tpi head set. I'd bet though that by 1980 Raleigh abandoned 26tpi.

The seller is about 20 miles from me so I was tempted to go take a look. With it being overpriced and also such a large frame it would be a big waste of time.

Anyway, it's hard to believe a Craigslist seller would not disclose any damage

Well, this could well be a cool frame. Pictures tell 1000 words. I think I'll ask for a refund on my thousand words.

No comment necessary, except that this thing is probably overpriced.

Custom chopper bicycle - $200 (Richmond)

bicycle type: cruiser
frame size: 11'
wheel size: 26 in

Hey kids, I built this gem in college, rode it awhile and now it's collecting dusk. It's 10.5' long. That's not a joke. I've got the handle bars, and can probably scrounge up a seat. Needs crank and a chain (coaster brake rear wheel) and you're ready to roll. Not sure what to charge, but $200 seems reasonable for something so cool. Moving and I'd rather not take it. Open to reasonable offers, and would trade for Glock or Ar15 parts

I have his and hers vintage bamboo bikes. Made out of real bamboo and very very durable!! You can ride both. Just like the ones on Gilligan's Island TV show. Also referred as vintage Jimmy Buffet Bikes. These you don't find everyday. They are going online from $1,200-2,000 each!!! I will sell one for $850.00 or both for $1,400.00. Also, just had them serviced at Bicycle Post in Greenville, NC have receipt to show you. Spent $162.00 to get this done. Text or call I might do a little better. Make an offer!"

If it were my size, if I had money in the bike fund, and if my wife would not be upset about another bike (a big no on all those accounts), I would proudly ride that (maybe not at that price though).

I think it is probably an adjustable or collapsible stock.

A true bump stock will have a trigger release as part of the mechanism.

Vintage Nishiki - $100

Bought this bike as a project bike, fixed the alignment, brakes, wheels (new tires, tubes, and fixed the spokes), and added fenders. Didn't get around to fixing the gearing before moving, so it has all the gears but no shifters or derailers.... Only minor cosmetic scratches.
