Vintage Nishiki - $100

Bought this bike as a project bike, fixed the alignment, brakes, wheels (new tires, tubes, and fixed the spokes), and added fenders. Didn't get around to fixing the gearing before moving, so it has all the gears but no shifters or derailers.... Only minor cosmetic scratches.

^^^^^^ With an unfixed frame.... Look at the head tube angle, and that reflection in the top tube just aft of the head tube.

================================================
Okay, not a bike, and I couldn't find any actual bike parts (let alone C&V parts) on it. But I think it uses LED blinky bike tail lights for the face:

As long as we're veering off topic... my wife and I intervened in a real-life version of this ^^^^^^ many years ago. Pet supply store, Sunday morning after a big street fair on that block. Lady comes in reporting an animal incident in the park adjacent to the store. There's an opossum in the bottom of a trash can, unable to get out. Several half-empty alcohol containers at the bottom, 'possum is obviously intoxicated. We grab an old beat-up carrier from the store, tip the trash bin on its side, and nudge the critter into the carrier. Quick drive to the nearby emergency vet clinic / wildlife rehab center, they sober him up and release him in the nearby woods.

(I did use a C&V hybrid bike to rescue/relocate another opossum, but he wasn't drunk, so never mind....)

Price magically jumps by a FACTOR OF TEN when you open the ad. And that "great front suspension" looks a little stiff.....

https://madison.craigslist.org/bik/d...749148090.html

Trek 4300, 26" wheels, 19.5" frame, 24 speeds - $10 (Madison)

Great bike. Great brakes. Gears work perfect. No rips in the seat. Great front suspension. Overall great bike. Ready to get you to school or work. Great bike for the Winter. Text to pickup. $100 obo
===========================================
Update - title and text price magically match now, at aprx. the geometric mean of the two previously posted prices. Aaaaand, it's magically gained a suspension fork. Buuuuuut, it's lost the actual photo of the
bike, and gained a stock photo:

Trek 4300, 26" wheels, 19.5" frame, 24 speeds - $40 (Madison)

Great bike. Great brakes. Gears work perfect. No rips in the seat. Great front suspension. Overall great bike. Ready to get you to school or work. Great bike for the Winter. This obviously isn't the exact picture of the bike. I got it off Google because the bike is at home and I'm not right now. It's still the exact same bike though minus a few minor scratches that aren't really noticeable. Text to pickup. $40
===========================================================
Wait -- he had to post the stock pic because he's not at home where the bike is? Then WTF is the pic in the first version of the ad? It's obviously NOT a stock pic. I'm smellin' fish that ain't fresh.....

And is that front brake caliper installed upside down. Reckon they had to move it out of the way to (mis)fit that big front tire

Can't say I'm an expert on Pinarellos, but I'm fairly certain it's not aluminum and confident it's not worth nearly $4000

I do think their distressed paint is kind of cool, for a cheap Schwinn. Has someone added an extra bar to the frame?

Somehow they managed to also get the bars mounted about an inch off-center.

What do you expect from a guy who spells "Schwinn" correctly, but can't get "bicycle" right?

If the wind is blowing just right, as it blows through the holes in the handlebar, it plays the melody of Casey Jones by the Grateful Dead.

(Or maybe Somewhere Over the Rainbow?...)

You'd need a lot of fingers to play them like a flute.

Perhaps they pick up the wind.

Shine a light inside the handlebar, in a completely dark room, and it projects an exact map of the Milky Way, as seen from Regulus, on the walls/ceiling.

I would guess that's where you put your bear attractant to be used along with those bear trap pedals.

Road bike - Nishiki Prestige (Exceptional Condition) - bicycle - $180 (Lynchburg Va)

"1984 with no issues, 34" standover - NO RUST FLAWLESS - The only things NOT originally on the bike are the seat, tires, bottle holder and hood covers. Rides wonderfully. Oval front middle chain ring, Suicide shifters, intricate details all over the bike. Pictures do not do it justice."

Nothing wrong with the bikes or the ad, but what shop leaves the inventory tag on the bike when it sells, or on a repair going out? I've worked in several shops that used Sutherland's (and other brand) tags and we never let a bike go out the door tagged like that, new or repair. And what owner would leave it on the bike if a shop did that?

Mountain Goat Deluxe MTB Campagnolo O.R. Off Road Mountain Bike Group NOS Spares
Rare Frame Fork Stem ALL ORIGINAL 1991 Mountain Goat
$14,175.00 (free shipping)

For a $14K bike... not a single side picture of the whole frame.

It apparently includes all the components for a full build (or two), but not a single one is actually photographed (other than the headset cups, and stem).

I have to assume the bike has canti posts, but no photos of those either.
