I figured i'd use this thread to rant about this. I'm sure others also have this issue. when you post an ad with all the information you get an email. like this.

Example.

Hi i'm interested in your bike. does it have fenders? what size is it?

So with this I'll say this stuff.
That person must be a big idiot. It says everything in the ad.
They disslike me because I get angry at them.
Are people becoming stupider over the years?
I must say, these people do all this fancy ass school stuff but can't read a simple ad?

You should see what I see at work, engineers who try to build something from Ikea. it's A laugh

So anyway. why is it I constenly get these idiots who do this? I may be wrong but it's really anoyying.

When you post a bike are you trying to sell it? Dumb people can balance and pedal too. Just reply "Yes this has fenders." or "No it doesn't." Nobody's going to buy a bike from an a$$hole.

I wouldn't sell my Viscount for any less than $200 and I don't feel it is an outrageous price at all.

+1

Many folks think that having the "death fork" is an asset; they can always change it if they want to.

Here is the 2017th ad for a Peugeot UO-8 claiming to be a PX-10. I wrote FOR MY FIRST TIME to the seller that he is mistaken.

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/bik/1511510942.html

PEUGEOT PX10, 1960's - $900 (twin peaks / diamond hts)

Rare vintage Peugeot racer. Circa 1960's
Excellent condition.
All original parts. Lugged Reynolds tubing. Simplex groupo. Brooks saddle. Even the "Record du Monde" vinyl flag intact!

Size: 58cm - ish
Top tube: 56cm
Stand over: 33 inches

Beautiful, come see for yourself!
I wrote my FIRST EVER correction message to an advertiser:

Hi. Perhaps you don't know, that bike you are selling (which appears to be in good condition) is not rare, nor is it a PX-10. The PX-10 was the top of the line. The bike you are selling is a UO-8, which was extremely common, fairly inexpensive and nearly the bottom of the line. It is worth about $150 if it's in good running order.

Good luck, though.

it seems when the seller was making the list of parts you need to "slap on" to make it useable he forgot to mention the fork. he was clever enough to take the pics at an angle to prevent you from getting a real good look at it and the DT

Amazing...
on the other hand, $5 is not that bad for that "10 speed", if the grips are in good shape

I just received an email from the seller. I had ask for better pics of the fork as I thought it looked bent his reply?

"fork def not bent, but as shown with no derailleur, I do have spare derailleurs that arent special that you can take a pick from".

Don't have a specific ad to mention, but have noticed over the past few weeks the quantity of ads with bikes listed for crazy prices ($300-400 for a run of the mill old Trek mountain bike) has gone through the roof.
