"I came across this bike at a sale I bought it I paid like $1,000 for it it's still worth that and more I'm asking $800 for it please feel free to contact me with questions I am willing to negotiate with pricing would be a great bike to have for somebody that doesn't have problems taking care of their stuff"

Sure, $420 new at Amazon. A bit high?

I also see it has an Iowa City Bike Library tag on it. That's a bike coop that does long term rents & sells refurbished bicycles.

He says in the ad that the bike needs a new back wheel, and the spare wheel he's offering with it won't work unless you convert the frame to disk. Anyone disagree with that?

I don't get what's wacky here, other than he spells it "breaks". Seems like a decent value and properly described.

Fifty bucks well spent.

Swing Bike - $50 (Menomonie, WI)
Facebook item: 1600783987444404

Made a few years ago. It's a normal bike with a second pivot point near the seat so you can turn really sharp and have all sorts of fun. Needs a new chain and a brake cable then you can impress all your friends with your one of a kind bike.

At least they spelled "BRAKE" correctly.

It would have been gold if they called it a "Schwinng" bike.

That would be a decent value at one tenth the asking price. See if he'll come down.

The "ick" is strong with this one.

Female Wanted for Bicycle Riding Partner (Eureka)

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap
bicycle type: hybrid/comfort
frame size: 18
wheel size: 27 in
bicycle frame material: aluminum
suspension: frame and fork (full suspension)
brake type: caliper
handlebar type: cruiser
condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Schwinn, Trek, Specialized, etc.Older gentleman seeks female riding companion for casual bicycling around the Eureka area - the Bay Trail in particular. Intelligent conversation and cultured ambience would be an additional benefit, but the main raison d'etre, is in order to stay fit and more thoroughly enjoy the beauty and wonders of nature. Please, no electric powered bicycles/riders - pedal power only. I have a second bike which can be used on 'loan' if your bike is in the shop, or you do not have a bike but would like to start riding.

Security concerns and safe introductions may be met at the Eureka Police Department, where an initial meeting can take place, to ensure your safety, and increase your 'comfort zone'.

Speaking of ick: those ADGA saddles so often turned into rock-hard ass-hatchets.

Has anyone ever seen one that was nicely broken in, perhaps with generous applications of Proofide?

Oh, lol. That’s not to bad. Good luck I say.

Now some of the replies I’ve gotten, from Craigslist weren’t buyers…

Marked down from $1500 to $1350. I bet they would take $1200 if you presented your offer so that it didn't seem like you were low balling them.

As crazy as this looks, there are cases where a person is unable to bend forward or doesn't feel comfortable with bending forward enough to reach the handgrips with the stem going forward. When I worked in a bike shop we had a customer that had some form of disability and the stem was reversed and handlebars re-mounted the same as pictured above. Making accommodations is better than people not riding. Since it takes some work to achieve this stem backwards fitment, I am thinking that there was a similar need.

By the way, there are some stems that are Zero offset with some people saying that they like them a lot. It is really a mater of the relationship of the hands to the butt. And getting that relationship right can be critical.

Come to think of it we might have used this trick more than once.
