Ruined Romic. You don't see these very often but they are usually restored, or at least built with some degree of taste. This poor example, not so much. I was severely disappointed when I clicked the link. A crying shame is what it is. I emailed and asked if he would sell just the frame and fork. Hopefully he's clever, and understands what I mean.,,,,BD

You have been warned!

Late 80's Romic touring

Nope. he's not clever... His response? "How much?"

Yeah, I occasionally tune into the show "American Pickers". The two main guys find hoarders and pick through their stash for old gas station and beer signs and motorcycles. The hoarder holds out for top dollar even with his long-suffering spouse reminding him that they're moving to the rest home soon and none of it gets to come along. The two guys cart off a vanload of cr*p, but it never makes the slightest dent in the main pile.

This guy wants $10 000 for his Colnago Arabesque built up with Centaur. And I don't know what he has done to get the shifter cables mounted to the down tube, it looks like a mess though.

Doesn't NOS mean "New Old Stock"? And if you're trying to sell a 25-year-old bike with chopper-lump shifter mounting updated to brifters for $10000, then you can afford to have something nice machined for the cable stop.

This makes me want to cry.

I know it isn't a high end Moser, but still, it looks like it was a decent bike at one point with Huret parts, Stronglight crank, Brooks like saddle.

But now I don't think its worth it, even for parts. Frame has just rotted.

By bike motor installment, does he mean for $20 he'll hold the bike while you get on?

Fixed gear bikes today only have one speed, but if you travel back to 1982 they had 10.

[h=2]1982 Fixed Gear Schwinn World Sport Bicycle - $75 (Anoka, MN)[/h]
https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/an...540552379.html

1982 Schwinn World Sport Fixed gear bicycle. The frame is in good shape, with minor rusting at the handle bars. Handle bars, tire rims, and pedals are all in good shape. Needs a new chain and seat, but still in fairly good condition otherwise. Asking price is $65 OBO

That's why it got a "Hummmmmm..." out of me. I'm not sure how I feel about it. The build quality is probably a bit suspect, but interesting idea. With my hyperactive dog it would be a disaster. She would stick her whole face in the wheel at some point to chase a squirrel. Now if you had a well-trained dog they could leap off the side car, run up ahead on the MUP and clear a path. Then as you pass by the startled joggers etc. jump back on the bike.
