Wow AMF! I think if you had the safety book that went with the bike you might get 19.97 for it as a complete package.

I guess the "safety booklet" had to be included to reassure parents their kids wouldn't use the thing to jump local ditches, garbage cans and toddlers.

Not sure what's so funky about the Carlton? Am I missing something? A little pricey, but not insanely so...

Ever hear of a Schwinn "Champion"? Me neither. Guess this seller is confusing a tube decal for a model name. But the big thing about this super cool bike is the catastrophic dent in the top tube--all at no extra cost.

You can have it shipped to you for only $150, or pick it up locally in Atlanta, Georgia . . . or Jacksonville, Florida. The seller appears to have two different locations listed for this bike. Schwinn Champion Touring Bicycle Bike Shimano | eBay

It is a Tempo. Shame about the TT dent.

Don't be too offended but as "bicycles" these were about as cheaply made as they came, much like most of the John Deere bicycles from the same period. As I recall the Evel Kneivel 10 speed bikes didn't sell especially well even when Evel was popular, it was kind of hard to play Evel Kneivel and be cool doing it on a 10 speed . It may have value to a collector of Evel Kneivel memorabilia but as a collectible "bicycle" it is virtually worthless. It's the same with the John Deere bikes, try marketing them to bicycle collectors and you'd have to pay them to haul them off, take them to a John Deere collectibles auction in the Midwest and you'll leave with an empty truck and a fat wallet. A friend of mine did just that, he had several John Deere bikes that he drug around to bicycle swap meets for 2 or 3 years and never got so much as a nibble. He was to the point he was ready to scrap them. An auctioneer heard about them and called him to see if he wanted to put them in a "John Deere" auction. Reluctantly he did, every last one sold and he made a killing. It may be worth what you're asking in a different market but in the collectible bicycle market I don't see it. I've seen plain AMF 10 speeds in the same condition set out on the curb for free and sit there for several days, I can only assume a scrap metal dealer picked them up. Anyway, best of luck, hope you find that Evel Kneivel collector that's been searching for this missing piece to his collection.

Just because something is 'rare' doesn't always mean it is valuable.
