Only ten days into the new year, and I've already got my nomination for delusional seller of 2015 - $9500 asking for a 1949 (claimed - no picture showing a date on the SA hub) Raleigh Sports ladies frame. Admittedly, it in nice shape, but $9500? Then again, I hope he's right. If he is, my retirement is going to be paid for by the contents of my smaller shed:

There is a Hercules 3 spd for $20 at the local Goodwill.
Slap a bit of paint on it...

Do you think I could mark it by $5K?

It's back again, and again, and again. I contacted him once a few months ago telling him the honest truth, and I got a sob story about him losing his job in 2008, and having to sell off everything he has bought over the years, and that I was mean and heartless (for telling him what it's actually worth, mind you). Now I just shake my head, and let it go. You would think he'd have found another job in the last 7 years. Oh well.,,,,BD

I sold two folders for $320. Granted, they were cleaned and tuned nicely, and I took way better pictures. The secret was I didn't just post them in the bike section, I posted in boats and RVs. Sure enough, they went to a guy who saw them in the RV section. Your friend might get $120-$140 if he does some work.

This one has been up every few weeks for about 6 months now.

Single Speed Bamboo (ish) bike for $400.

Looks like the seller doesn't know whether they are in Eugene or Portland

Bamboo Bike
Bamboo Bike

I wonder if they just buy cheep Chinese frames, cut the middle out of the tubes, and add in some Bamboo.

Just browsing a bit, maybe this is the ticket for a bamboo bike.
Japanese Bamboo Bike

Is that a steel or bamboo frame? I'm thinking steel with bamboo highlights, but unique nonetheless.

Its collectible in the sense that few people could actually smoke the 25,000 packs of cigarettes it took to get it.

I suppose I've seen the occasional bike rider smoking, but I think a reference to smoking turns off a lot of the avid cyclists. Not that a cheap MTB would appeal to the hard core road cyclists.

I'll never understand bikes like this. The mutilated bars, colored tires, and no front brake make it seem like they want to be cool, but then they have a huge gel saddle and a short, high stem. I figure the brake lever padding is there because with only one you have to really clench it. No clue about what the doorknob on the rear brake is there for though. And oh what a price for it all!

[h=2]cannondale - $800 (spring lake park, MN)[/h]cannondale

great bike
custom handle bars
Red tires
Nice seat
Only rear break set up
Vary smooth shifting
Vary light frame
Made with the best parts
$800 obo
May trade for used car

Now down to $420. That head tube angle looks like 85 degrees or more. What's up with that?
