I've wondered if some sellers purposely misspell an item if it was stolen, also avoiding actual photos of the item.

For example, say you had a Rock Hopper stolen, every few days you might do a search of ads across the state, or into neighboring states. Perhaps using a utility such as SearchTempest.

Thus, by using such atrocious spelling, the locals that read ads from the top of the list will still find it, but those only doing searches will fail.

Woah! Rare! AMAZING!!! Empty your wallet for this bike boom dud!

[h=2]Collectors Bike For Sale - Women's Ficelle - $700 (University and Snelling, MN)[/h]Collectors Bike For Sale - Women's Ficelle

I am moving and must get rid of my AMAZING bike!!! It is a French 3-speed Ficelle road bike (probably about 40-45 years old) in pristine condition with minor rust (as seen in pics) with brand new breaks, an old-school light that is powered by pedaling, a basket, and a tire pump that is attached as well!!! I am 5'3" and the bike is perfect for me. In addition I can take credit cards for payment via the square app!!! This bike is so fabulous and will probably sell fast considering what a beautiful collectible it is! Please contact me ASAP if interested.

Anybody need a new cassette?

Shimano 7 Speed Cassette - $10

Maybe I should send the seller an e-mail and ask if it is Uniglide compatible

Now I like Bridgestones and I'll admit I've never seen one of these, but eleven hundred freakin' dollars for a scuffed, lightly corroded bike missing parts and with a suspiciously wonky front shifter? What the hell...it's my size so let me run over there and throw my retirement money at him so I can get this thing because the ad promises it is "pristine." Hell, for that price Grant might just buy it back from him. Oh, and he could have actually made the effort to measure it so he'd know what size it is.

Bridgestone grand velo 2000 coca cola racing bicycle

Bridgestone grand velo 2000 coca cola racing bicycle - $1100 (colonial heights)

condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Bridgestone
model name / number: Grand Velo 2000

Up for sale is a pristine condition Bridgestone grand velo 2000 with all original sun tour superbe pro components and was a coca cola racing bike. The shifts are buttery smooth and the braking works great. I think it's about a 57 cm height. This is an incredibly rare bike and I believe it's made during the grant Peterson era. 1100 OBO.

Where do these people come up with the $1000 Continentals and other such bargains?

From watching too many nose pickers or pawn clowns shows? Their stupidity amazes me.

The bike listed is a Puch Pathfinder. I know because I assembled and sold scores, maybe hundreds, of these things in the early '80s. I found this ad while researching some other A-D info. This bike sold for $170 new, not $800. Steel frame, steel rims, stem shifters, QR on front only, etc. I'll bet he'll take $350 for it, but it's not worth that unless it's the last Pathfinder in existence and in museum-quality condition. In other words, not bloody likely. I really hope some poor schlub does not pay that much for this bike.

Rare Puch Austro-Daimler

Rare Puch Austro-Daimler

Awesome light weight road bike in very good condition. $800 new 20 years ago, I will take $350.
Rides great good gears, tires.

Bob's Donuts is back with another But-Ful bike.... This time with a Surly 1x1 build. I wonder if he will ever learn how to spell beauty???

The Lemond I posted here several months ago is still for sale, having been relisted many times. Current

Surly 1x1 - $4995 (Eugene)

For a mountain bike, it doesn't look too bad. Single Speed? I just can't imagine a $5000 bike built on a $475 steel frame.

Yay for paying more than stated MSRP for a bike that's been covered in reflective tape and has downgraded turkey levers. What's adding value here- the kickstand? The AM/FM radio? I also hate that they downplay the huge SCHWINN decal on the seat tube and pay more attention to the tiny "Paramount Design Group" sticker below the front derailleur clamp.

Of course they'll trade silver coins for it.

[h=2]SCHWINN 564 Paramount 1989 Aluminum Road Bike 58cm = "Black Lightning" - $750 (City of Lakes, MN)[/h]SCHWINN 564 Paramount 1989 Aluminum Road Bike 58cm = "Black Lightning"

$570 new in 1989 at 23 pounds! Blazing fast with new Bontrager Race-Lite Hardcase tires and new Chain. Original BioPace 52/42 elliptical chainwheels + 2 smaller - for older riders like me. I'm 66+ now - haven't ridden this much since my heart attack - 347 miles - it rides like a LeTour on Steroids!

Sweet fast rare aluminum Paramount in great shape - 7 minutes from Lake Harriet or Lake Calhoun!

Handlebar-mounted CREE headlamp and DSP AM/FM/Shortwave Radio are included, cheapo pedals and plastic seat are not. I will include the original fuzzy seat - so you can resell as new!

SWAP for 2 tubes (40 ounces) of American Silver Eagles?

I especially like the torn faux-Grab On foam grips patched with electrical tape on a $750-priced bike. At least he spelled "lightning" correctly but it's not a Cannondale so would not be a Black Lightning anyway unless that happens to be his pet name for the bike.
