he's pretty organized and whatnot which is pretty nice and the fact that everything is super clean. But to be honest parting out bikes like these where each individual part is not really worth much or sought after compared to parting out something with a more desired campy grouppo or so. The time he would have to invest in cleaning / organizing / listing / storing the parts is way too much. Unless you're retired with nothing better to do then i guess but man, i see a dude with heavy OCD, and this is coming from a guy who has some OCD himself.

Good to have you back!

I'm pretty much retired from drilling (for the time being - who knows what the future holds?), but still building a bike here and there...

My two cents

Okay, here is my two cents.
Great topic by the way
My point of view is the lines. The brake cables look a lot cleaner in this regards.

UO18 Puegeot mixte with ape hangers, eh? Maybe it's an Alabama thing. Can't imagine that's remotely comfortable to ride. Clever looking though, although I can't imagine shifting going well either.

I set up most of my bikes with Right - Front, Left - Rear. On my ICE both left and right levers are for front brakes.

Just another bent fork...I hate seeing these though. The cables don't look like they were changed either...

https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/...198125725.html

$125

It's a vintage bike in pretty good condition. The bike was imported from France and has undergone a partial restoration (everything except paint). It's a 10 speed and fits people that are between 6'0" - 6'5". Has the simplex derailleur from the time period. If you're interested, please text me at

Thanks - John

condition: good
make / manufacturer: trek
model name / number: elance 400
a friend of mine had this bike and one day while at work someone stole the wheels off it witch is why there are no wheels now he gave it to me as a present and because he could not take it with him as he moved to california an had another 400 .He is a very knowledgeable person in road bikes as well as an avid rider ,told me this bike is worth about 1000$ ,well i can't sell it for a that much since it does not have the wheels on it so im selling it for 500. i have also talked to others who know much more about bikes then i do and have confirmed the price also im including pics i was told it does have a serial number on it but ill admit i do not want to take things apart on the crank case to get it simply because im lazy it is built for taller people but obviously smaller people can use it .the measurement from crank to top is 24 1/2 in =61cm it has an 8speed acera shimano rear de-railer as well as a 3speed front de-railer il let the pictures speak for themselves for the rest call me at

The disturbing thing about this post isn't the state of the bicycle, plenty of people who know nothing about bicycles have posted the same, but the seller's pictures show a couple other road bikes in the garage, so there's really no excuse for overlooking a badly bent fork and brake cable housing that's splitting apart.

In a similar vein, I had to re-learn how to eat in my 20s because my parents taught me the typical American "zig-zag" style of fork/knife eating which is super inefficient, switching fork from left to right hand after cutting. It took several weeks of practice, but I switched to "hybrid" style left-hand-only on forking and I can't imagine going back. Within 4-6 months I had amazing granular control over forking, better than my right, and I eat more gracefully and efficiently than before.
It's funny you bring up eating, because I had that conversation with my kids the day before you posted this. I learned the "non-american" way, which IIRC was referred to as the "continental" way. I've been eating that way for as long as I can remember. Even to the point where I use my left hand for chopsticks, which I've been told is odd for a righty.

My classic bike has the right brake for the front, but my bikes with brifters are the more common "right lever - rear brake".

I was thinking the same thing and even added that photo because of the other bikes being visible.

So Earnest, Yet...

Vintage Road Bike, Ready To Ride - $130 (Cary)

"I am selling my road bike that I used to get to class on. Don't know the year or model of the bike. It is in great shape and can be rode anywhere today. All it is missing is the front derailleur but it is not needed to ride.

I bought the bike and restored it for me to ride to class up in the mountians. I took it apart sandblasted the paint and repainted it. Cleaned up all of the aluminum and polished what I could. It has new chain, new tires, new grips, trip computer(needs battery's now).

Would make a great bike very solid steel frame, a bit heavy but you will never break it. Seat is ok, its in great shape but not the best for long rides. The front derailleur was broken when I got the bike and I never replaced it. You can move the chain from one sproket to the next by hand if you need a low gear to climb a hill. 5 gears on the rear casset and two up front. Would also make a good fixie if you are a hipster and into that kinda stuff.

vintage, 10 speed, roadbike, road bike, classic, commuter, restored, sears, trek, relaigh, Schwinn, world sport, bike, clipons, clip ons"

(At least the turkey wings have been removed? The poster is so not a poseur. His sincerity is plain. Nevertheless...)
