old school stem with new carbon bar

I want to use this Nitto Technomic (or similar) stem:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001GSOGWI/...0&linkCode=asn

with this bar Easton EC90 Equipe (except mine has classic bend, and 26mm clamp - couldn't find exact photo because it's discontinued):

Is there any reason I have to stick with the Easton stem (see photo)? I seem to remember Easton saying something about warranty issues or safety or something, and they warned against 4-bolt stems (I think), but I know they want to sell their own stems also.

Here's the bike. I don't like the look of the Easton stem, and if I go with a quill, I can get rid of the adapter also. I could use the taller stem (at my age) - that's why the choice of the Technomic. A hi-quality tall removable faceplate quill stem would be nice also, if anyone can recommend one.

I don't see amy issue with using a 4 bolt but I certainly see an issue with a technomic. Note where it says 2 bolts. you will likely gouge the bar putting the stem on and the pinch type fixing system will probably crack the bars.

Uh ... exactly what I was worried about. At the very least I want to find a silver equivalent to the Easton EA70 stem in the photo, although now that I think about it, the rims are black, the carbon seatpost (cl find!) is black.

Interesting, I didn't know they made classic bend carbon bars. How about this: keep the Easton stem and use oven cleaner (aka caustic soda or lye I believe) to strip the black anodizing off and polish it a nice shiny silver color? A bit of work, I know, but it would work. Then again, I think there are beaucoup polished silver 2-bolt stems like that Easton out there.

Velo-orange went to the Taipei Bicycle trade show and noticed this interesting stem design:

I'm sure if Velo-Orange carries it they will choose the all silver color.

Why not go with a bar like this one:
https://www.cambriabike.com/shopexd.a...ROAD+HANDLEBAR

As long as the clamp diameters work you won't have to worry about small scratches sliding it into a quill stem.

edit:
plus the aluminum bar is about $200 cheaper.

There's a whole slew of traditional quill stem options that would look nice on that bike:
https://sheldonbrown.com/harris/stems/index.html

There is this one if you want some rise in a quill style stem:
https://harriscyclery.net/page.cfm?Pa...ils&sku=SM4080

Removable bar clamps are nice and convenient, but IMHO none of them beat the elegance of a clean quill stem.

Who makes that? Thats an interesting stem idea, no hideous spacers required.. just gotta make sure the rise ain't too much/too little, etc!

Easton EC90 Equipe Pro Bend Carbon

I got the bars and stem for $100 on cl last summer, then discovered them discontinued by Easton, and discounted from $329 to $90. https://www.backcountryoutlet.com/out...064&mv_pc=r126

I went with carbon due to sensitive hands. Before these, I had some cheap Forte bars with Bontrager Buzz-kill brass plugs. I also wanted the compact geometry: 75 reach, 130 drop. I actually like the 26mm clamp, over the bulge from my 31.8 clamp on my Easton EA70. All in all, it's a very clean look and feel on a bike with aero brake levers and downtube shifters.

bbattle, I like the look of that stem!
