Great looking Advantage!! It looks in great shape was it used alot? The is an '89 and therefore the original 'upright' hybrid. Aside from the ChroMo frame it was a pretty basic bike with a HiTen fork at $350 but the thanks to a comfy upright riding position we sold lots of them.

My starter bike when I returned to riding last year (after nearly 35 years) was an Advantage that had been converted to drop bars. I still have it on the porch and keep debating whether to get rid of it or keep it for light touring. Purple in color, I think it's a 91 or 92 model. It's a nice, comfortable ride.

I also just picked up a purple-ish Bianchi Advantage in the trash with what looks like a newer pair of Shimano SPD pedals on it, there was also a nice C-Dale under seat bag that I already removed and washed. Mine had a junk pair of steel wheels on it but I may have something a little better to put on it off of my Axis.

Hello everyone,
I too had a chance to go and look at an older bianchi advantage lugged frame today for my wife. It is a small frame, probably 13 or 14. Asking price $200. I know absolutely nothing about bikes and was hoping someone out there that knows bikes could help me. I took a bunch of pictures of it on my phone but do not know how to get them on here. Can anyone help me?

I got this Boardwalk off CL and optimized the fit to accommodate my comfort and stature. I'm a sucker for early 90's chrome moly cross bikes, or hybrids, in the modern parlance. After being subjected years of misuse as a college knock-around, mine needed a set of brake/shifters, riser bars, grips, cables, pedals, a sprung seat, (both) stems, and 700X35 tires as well. Though they were newly bought prior to selling, the Innova tires were perceptively slow, a handicap that was quickly remedied by the application of another set of cheap, but satisfactory Duro whitewalls. The white-colored theme directed my inspiration for this build (see chainstay sticker), save for the purple riser bar that complimented the graphics. Most of the parts I sourced were gently used. I found the geometry to be different from prior cross bikes I've built. This one had a shorter crossbar by a full inch, which renders it a comfortable, if more upright town bike. Lucky I'm not a stickler for premium components, so the Shimano 200 GS derailleurs, and the Biospace triple chainring are no cause for concern.
