While it is a bit narrower than the my Brooks B-17s (they are 17s right? better double check) I like the quality and finish of the leather saddle I got from V.O.. It isn't quite as shiny as the Brooks so I don't feel like I am slipping out of the saddle.

I have Brooks, Wrights and Ideale, personal favorite and the most durable seem to be the Brooks. Watch for a scratch and dent sale from Wallbike.

I live in India. You get a lot of substandard stuff here. But you can also get good stuff if you look. Now I'm not saying the stuff can compare to Brooks but then the Persons or Permaco saddles which are sort of copies of the Brooks B17 are made in India.
Actually the stuff sold in India has to last. Majority of the people still use Roadsters as those are the only cycles they can afford. People like me who use modern bikes constitute less than 1% of the total cyclists.
Again not comparing to the Brooks Pro. Just FYI the original Brooks are available in India but they cost about 3 times the average roadster.
All said and done cycling (for leisure/fitness/competetion) is slowly picking up in India and for people into this kind of cycling, the only source of information is forums like this.

Shop around a bit, I bought a new B17 in black a few months ago for $86 with free shipping, I see them all the time for under $100 and fairly often under $90. Just bought a very lightly used Honey colored B17 "Champion Special" for $85 with free shipping. I did give the Gyes a serious look before I came across the "Champion Special" but the bike it's for is Metallic Burgundy with gold lettering, the Honey with copper rivets and name plate at that price was irresistible.

We have all seen Indian made clothing where the first time it's washed all the buttons come off.

I just received a mail from the manufacturer and the cost of these saddles is around $20 if ordered in bulk. I have asked him to send me 3 and I will try them out.

Two saddles I bought that were ruined and replaced the leather. Are they still Brooks, leather came from saddle shop. One on right broke in, left just finished.
These are B17Ns which I find more comfortable than the standard B17.

Rideable Replica Hairpin Vintage Retro Bicycle Saddle Brown - AAWYEAH Bikes and Bicycle Parts
Reviews on it are mixed with the consensus generally being, "It looks cool, smells awful, doesn't wear too well and you're better off spending a bit more and getting a better saddle."
There's a time and a place though for cheap saddles and if India can produce a decent $20 leather saddle, I'd love to have one. I'm not going to slap a $150 Brooks on my beater Schwinn World Sport. The whole point of that bike is that it's a rideable POS that I don't have to worry about getting stolen.

No. Bulk order means 250. But I just mailed them saying I need 3 for testing before deciding. They usually supply samples at a marginally higher price.
Will let you know.
That used to be very common earlier though you still see them. A more common one is this:
NS-013
and this:
NS-014
+1 to that
Will let you know.
So far as I know, the most common Indian saddle available in the states is this one.
