Help identifying this Gitane
Just bought this for $70. Don't know if it was worth the money, but it gets me around campus. I'm having trouble identifying it, though. I'm not a bike expert, so all I can give you is that it's a Gitane brand and there's a sticker on it that says "Challenger - Made in France." Also, I saw the name "Huret" somewhere on it. Can anyone date and identify this?

Thank you!
I wasn't sure if "Challenger" was the model, since I searched "Gitane Challenger" all over the Internet and came up with nothing. Plus, I wasn't sure if they even made with mustache handles. I only see them in road bike form around here. |
I like the bars on it. ideal for cruising and also for reaching the brakes quickly

I actually mistyped. The sticky doesn't say "Challenger," it says "Challenge" (doesn't look like anyone rubbed off the "r"). There's no "Super" preceding it either.
But yes, I took a glance at the catalog and the decals on it definitely match. |
