Atala -
Because it's impossible to find much about them. And I've seen several lately.
GIOS -
Because their site stinks, and the only real knowledge we seem to have is that metal headbadges are post '78. And they're purdy.
Univega -
A huge cult bike, with a big fanbase, not lots of internet information, and... Well. People would pay bank for Univega decals, everyone and their mom wants to restore one.

Lots of good suggestions but lets take something important into considration....
Availability of information. Whats the point of dedicating web space to a particular brand if there's no information to access?
What makes have available catalogs that may be scattered amongst a variety of owners?
I initialy was thinking Bianchi because they're popular and I'm sure that within a few months a catalog collection could be put together and scanned.
Another option is have information on 10 or 15 different makes that only have a few catalogs available. 1 or 2 members could do the write up for a make and I could insert it into my site.

What about components instead. I really like the site for Suntour RD (disraeligears?), but I can't find much for any other component.

LOL....I own lejeunebicycles.com and have not gotten to doing anything with it. Partly because the information I have is really limited.

The Velobase site has a section for catalogs as well, but perhaps we need a thread here where members can list what older catalogs they have. Some pooled catalogs can be a decent foundation for a website.

I could go for a moto or uni or nishi site. The c&v threads are great, but it can be a little hard to dig through all the pages even after you've found the right thread. The info is definately there, but a "site" where its more organized an readily accessible would be make things lazier. Err easier.

I'd like to see a site dedicated to all the private label bikes sold over the years at local hardware stores and such. Most were lower quality but hold fond memories.
I'm sure there were hundreds of smaller private label brands sold across the country over the past century, yet there is virtually no information available that I can find.
As an example, the first bike I bought with my own money was a "Flying O" from the Oklahoma Tire and Supply Company (Otasco for short). I expect it was made by Murray or someone similar.
I think a site with pictures, catalogs and source information would be well received and interesting....

Jim, I would support any site dedicated to a particular brand. I'd like to see a Nishiki site. I know there has been at least a couple of not too successful attempts at a Nishiki site.
Whatever brand site is developed, I'd really like to see a place for senior members of BF to be able to post their pics of that brand of bike as long as it is almost all original. The only items that could be changed are consumables such as chains, tires, saddles and bar tape, otherwise completely stock. That's the one change I would like to see with the existing brand sites.

I say Univega. The number of bikes and potential owners increases the chances of filling in gaps of information.

First thought-Motobecane
But Univega/other Japanese as has been mentioned was my second thought.
Then I realized that I would really like to know more about Puch. I can never find anything on Puch.
