Excited about BMX Bikes again...
It's been a long time since I've riden BMX, and this weekend I went to a meet here in San Diego. The bikes these guys had were pristene. It makes me wonder... Where are they finding these rides? We're talking bikes I had forgotten even existed. It was awesome to see such great examples and I wanted to share the pictures I took. Hutch, DG, Robinson, SE Racing, Patterson Racing... so many great bikes. I've been sitting on an old Mongoose I got at the thrift store... Maybe it's time?

Wow those photos bring back some memories. I used to race BMX and do freestyle back in the early 80's when I was a teenager. I subsidized my bike habit by getting a business licence, buying parts wholesale, and building up custom bikes for other kids in town. I still had a bunch of parts in the basement including original sets of graphite tuff wheels with Campy hubs, a mint first generation Kuwahara, a bunch of early SE stuff, and best of all one of Bob Haro's personal frames that was the prototype for the original Haro Freestyler.
Came home one day years later and my Dad had cleaned out the basement and taken everything to goodwill without asking me. That stuff would probably be worth a bunch of cash now!

Awesome photos. Its funny seeing the padded bar covers on those bikes...that was the first thing to get taken off those bikes back in the day right after the price tag.
