mounting a Front Rack w/o Canti bosses

I've been looking at front racks, and I've seen a number of them that I really like but they all seem to mount to canti bosses, which I don't have. I can't see how a P-Clamp could be used to remedy this... so is there some way to mount a rack like the Nitto M12 without canti bosses?

I'm not even sure where I got this, found it in my basement when I was building this Carlton. I think its a Blackburn and its rock solid! Mounts at the brake bolt and dropouts.

The Nitto "Mark's rack" sold by Rivendell is made for mounting to fork blades (whether to braze-ons or with clamps.

A less-expensive alternative is the Velo-Orange randonneur rack.

Also, if your intent is to support a bag (as opposed to hang panniers), mini-racks of various sorts and connections show up on eBay. I bought one from Hilary Stone recently that mounts to the brake bolt of centerpull brakes.

I assume you mean the little racks meant only to support a handlebar bag. There is a Nitto (Marc's rack) at Rivendell, and a Velo Orange rack that normally go to lowrider mounts on the fork. They can be used with p-clamps. There are also some lightweight racks that go to the front dropouts.

I never really liked the idea of going to the canti bosses all that much

HIlary is currently suspended from ebay. I am patiently awaiting his return.
