Campy compatibility?

Hello, does anyone know if chorus 8 speed hubs are compatible with 8 speed record cassettes, or if it needs to be a chorus cassette? Also, I've got a C-record rear derailleur. I'm fairly new to vintage bike building and really don't want to buy parts only to find out they don't work together.

oh sorry I meant freewheel not cassette.

any eight-speed freewheel will work. Sachs made a very good one, as did Regina.

I don't think campy ever made an eight speed freewheel, btw.

What's your question about the rear derailleur ? They will work just as badly with different freewheels :)

mm, the hubs I have are italian threading and from what I understand the difference between italian and ISO threading is virtually nothing. Soooo, I think I'll try to track down an ISO threaded sachs or regina 8 speed . thanks for the help! :)

Why do you really want to go with an 8 speed freewheel? Is it due to alu/CF rear frame spacing? If not, and your frame is 126-8 I'd just go with 7. Just my 2c.

my frame spacing is 130. I want to get the maximum shifting range that my rear derailleur is capable of.
