Will this work on my bike?

I have an 83 Trek 720 in serious need of a new wheelset. The previous owner put some thrashed teal Deep Vs on it. I am looking at a nice Mavic ma2. The rim will work, but the unknown part is the hub / cassette. The wheel has a campy chorus freehub with the ability to take a 9/10 speed cassette. Does anyone know if this will work on my bike? The hub is 130mm so I know if will fit, but just not sure about the 9/10 speed cassette. Currently the bike has suntour barcons and a threaded 7 speed freewheel. I know I would have to pick up a new cassette, but not sure my bar-end shifters will work.

My Suntour ratchet shifters (w/Raleigh covers no less) handled a 9s DA cassette without issue.

The barcons may work (I believe I've read that they work successfully up to 9 speeds), but your rear derailleur may not have enough travel to cover 9 cogs.

I run 70's Suntour friction barcons on a late 90's 8-speed mountain bike. It works just fine, and it has enough pull left over for a 9 speed for sure. Not sure about 10 speed...that's a little out of my budget right now.
