68 paramount
I have a 1968 Schwinn paramount. I just got it restored. Can anyone tell me where to get a GPS chip or something so I can put in the bike somewhere. I dont want to lose it. I know that cell phones have a chip or something. I just want something where they can track the bike if stolen. Can anyone help with advice? Thankyou all, Kevin

I've got a better idea! Why don't you just not leave it anywhere unattended! :thumb: I know if I had a 68 Paramount (restored or not) it would never ever leave my sight, I figure if I'm riding it I'm riding it, not to the store, or the cafe, or some other place where I'd have to chain it up, if you do and it gets stolen you deserve it. Just MHO.

Lojack for Paramount. I like the sound of that. cudak888 needs to make a spoof commercial.

If we dont see a pic of it ,how can we tell if its worth stealin or not ?

They have those microchips for your dogs, lojack, anklets for cons...
You know it isn't a bad idea, I bet the actual overhead cost for something like that is small, but still lock it up. and post up some pictures of your bike |
Best way to keep a bike is to either be riding it, holding it or having it tucked safely away in the house.
I wouldn't lock up any bike without expecting it would be stolen. |
The only time I've ever locked my bike is when I'm going to dip into a store real quick or at the gym. If I'm at the gym I place it where I can see it from a window... I also check it every few minutes...

talk to a vet, get a pet microchip - a gps beacon would need to have a power source I think, which would limit the time available for recovery which makes it sort of unrealistic for a bike, unless you could activate it only when it was stolen or make it solar. The doggie chip will be hideable and still scan your info to prove ownership if it turns up.

i think the stolen thing is highly over rated, not to mention to a bike thief your paramount looks like any other bike boom bike (albeit a very shinny one). As long as you dont have quick release wheels and you lock through the frame/front wheel with a mid to upper range U-Lock (the 50-$100 ones... the cheaper ones can be pried off with a long pole) and Never leave your bike overnight then your bike will not be stolen. I have yet to meet someone that followed these guidelines and has had a bike stolen (even here in philly or NYC).
