Quick grip tape ID?

http://www.vintage-trek.com/images/t...rekCatalog.pdf

Pages 14, 15, etc. I have two 400 elances, and I'm trying to replace the original bar tape. They both have this stuff. It's some kind of leather-like grip. I can't describe the stuff well enough to do a useful online search; "vintage tapes," etc. only yields the usual Benotto/Brooks leather/cloth tape discussions.

Anyone have an idea of what I'm looking for?

No but I know and love it, if you find it let me know, I want it too!

heh...is it that perferated vinyl that used to be all the rage for wrapping your car steering wheel? :p

I sold these Trek 400's and they came with 2 rolls of a vinyl padded and sticky handlebar tape. Unknown brand, but similar to the "In-Line" tape or Cinelli of today.

I just found this previous thread on the topic. Looks like Ambrosio will get me near where I want to be--and yes, I think it's a perforated vinyl I'm looking for; if it was good enough for Mom's Mercury Capri, it's good enough for me! :)

Ambrosio bar tape from PBK looks identical. It's got a leather look but has pad to it. I have it on my trek and its fine for riding. I don't notice it being too slick. But if you want the look this is the stuff. Easy to clean if you get white too.
I used white Ambrosio tape on the Centurion.
